College of Physicians Bill.
Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for the better establishing the College of Physicians in London."
Oaths to be taken by Officers in the Army, Bill.
Hodie 1a et 2a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act to regulate the Administration of the Oaths required to be taken by Commission and Warrant Officers, employed in Their Majesties Service by Land, by virtue of an Act made the present Session of Parliament, intituled, An Act for the abrogating of the Oaths of Supremacy and Allegiance, and appointing other Oaths."
ORDERED, That the Consideration of this Bill is committed to a Committee of the whole House.
And accordingly the House was adjourned into a Committee presently.
The House was resumed.
And the Earl of Nottingham reported, "That the Committee of the House have gone through the Bill for regulating the Administration of the Oaths, required to be taken by Commission or Warrant Officers, &c.; and are of Opinion, That the said Bill is fit to pass, with the adding of a short Proviso."
Which, being read Twice, was agreed to, and the Bill is ordered to be engrossed with the Proviso.
D. of Schomberg introduced, and takes the Oaths.
This Day Frederick Duke of Schomberg was introducted, between the Marquis of Carmarden Lord President and the Duke of Bolton; the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod and Garter King at Arms carrying his Patent and Writ of Summons, the Lord Great Chamberlain and the Earl Marshal going before him.
He presented his Patent and Writ of Summons, on his Knee, and laid them upon the Woolsack; which were taken up by the Speaker, and delivered to the Clerk of the Parliaments, who did bring them to the Table, and read them.
The Patent bears Date the 9th of May, Anno 1° Guilielmi Regis et Mariæ Reginæ. The Writ of Summons is dated 6° Junii, A° 1° Guilielmi Regis et Mariæ Reginæ. And then he was placed in his due Place.
Frederick Duke de Schomberg took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, in Pursuance of the Acts.
Lampen versus Clobery.
Upon reading the Petition of Oliver Cloberry, Defendant to an Appeal depending in this House, in which Ezechiel Lampden is Plaintiff, praying a Day of hearing the said Appeal:
It is ORDERED, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Wednesday next, being the 12th Instant, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.
Exportation of Beer, &c. Bill.

ORDERED, That the Consideration of this Bill is committed to these Lords following:

D. Grafton versus L. C. Justice Pollexsen, for seizing the Office of Clerk of the Treasary in the Common Pleas.
Upon reading the Petition of his Grace Henry Duke of Grafton; complaining of a Breach of the Privilege of this House, by the Lord Chief Justice Polexphen, in Easter Terme last past, in seizing the Office of Clerk of the Treasury in the Common Pleas at Westminster, and Keeper of the Records there, which was granted to him by King Charles the Second, by Letters Patents under the Great Seal of England:
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Consideration of the said Breach of Privilege of Parliament, recited in the said Petition be, and is hereby, referred to the Committee for Privileges; whose Lordships, having considered thereof, and heard such Persons concerning the same as they shall think fit, are afterwards to report to the House.
Philipson versus Copley.
Upon hearing Counsel this Day at the Bar, upon the Petition of Sir Christopher Philipson Knight, complaining of Two Decrees made in Chancery, on the Behalf of John Copley and others, Defendants; as also upon the Answer of John Coply and others put in thereunto:
After due Consideration had of what was offered by Counsel on either Side thereupon, it is ORDERED and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition of Sir Christopher Philipson Knight be, and is hereby, dismissed this House.
Pardon for Oates.
The Lord President reported, "That the Lords have attended the King with the Address of this House, concerning Titus Oates; and His Majesty hath given Order for issuing out a Pardon, as is desired."
Shoemakers and Tanners, against the Exportation of Leather, Bill.
A Report was made, from the Committee for the Bill for reviving Two former Acts for exporting Leather, That Shoemakers, Tanners, and others, do oppose the Body of that Bill, and speak against the making of it a made Ware; therefore the Committee desires the Direction of the House, for their further Proceeding therein."
Whereupon the House directed them to proceed as far as they thought fit; and the Shoemakers and the other (fn. 1) Petitioners should be heard, by their Counsel, at the Bar, before the Third Reading of the Bill.
Adjourn.
