Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for making good a Recovery, suffered by the Earl of Peterborough and the Lord Mordant."

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill shall pass for a Law?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Soley's Bill.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for the better assuring the Manor of Silton, and divers other Lands and Tenements in Silton, in the County of Salop, unto Joseph Soley Gentleman, and his Heirs."

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill shall pass for a Law?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Benefices of Papists, to vest in the Universities, Bill.

The Earl of Rochester reported, "That the Committee have considered the Bill to invest in the Two Universities the Presentations of Benefices belonging to Papists; and are of Opinion, the same is fit to pass, with a small Amendment."

Which Amendment, being read Twice, was Agreed to; and ordered the Bill to be engrossed.

Message to H. C. with the E. of Peterborough's Bill; and Astley's et al. Nat. Bill.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Miles Cooke and Sir Adam Oateley:

1. To deliver to them the Bill for making good the Recovery suffered by the Earl of Peterborough and the Lord Mordaunt; and to desire their Concurrence thereunto.

2. To acquaint the Commons, that this House hath passed the Bill for the Naturalization of Anne Astley and others.

Ld. Ashburnham introduced, and takes the Oaths.

This Day John Lord Ashburnham was introducted, between the Lord North and the Lord Cornwallis; the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod and Garter King at Arms carrying his Patent and Writ of Summons, the Lord Great Chamberlain going before him.

His Lordship presented, upon his Knees, the Patent and the Writ of Summons, and laid them on the Woolsack; and then the Speaker delivered them to the Clerk of the Parliaments, who brought them to the Table, and read them.

The Patent bears Date the 30th of May, An° 1° Guliel. Regis & Mariæ Reginæ and the Writ of Summons is dated 3° Junii, A° 1 Gulielmi Regis et Mariæ Reginæ: And then he was brought and placed at the lower End of the Barons Bench.

This Day John Lord Ashburnham took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, in Pursuance of the Acts.

Exporting Leather, Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for reviving Two former Acts, for exporting of Leather."

ORDERED, That the Consideration of this Bill is committed to the same Committee, (fn. 2) the Bill concerning the currying of Leather, and selling it again curried.

North'ton Shoemakers Petition about it.

A Petition was read, from the Shoemakers of the Town of North'ton; and was referred to the Committee to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for reviving Two former Acts for exporting Leather," is referred.

Bamfield versus Popham.

Upon reading the Petition of Warwick Bamfeild Esquire; praying, a Day may be appointed for hearing his Cause, which hath been a long Time depending in this House:

It is ORDERED, by &c. That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Tuesday the 18th Day of this Instant June, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; whereof the said Warwick Bamfeild and others are to cause timely Notice to be given to the Defendants, to the End they attend with their Counsel accordingly.

Eyre versus Eyre.

After hearing Counsel at the Bar, on the First of June Instant, upon the Petition of Rowland Eyre Esquire and others Plaintiffs; as also upon the Answers of the Attorney of the Dutchy, Thomas Eyre Esquire, and others, Defendants:

After due Consideration had thereupon, it is this Day ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petition of Rowland Eyre Esquire and others, Defendants, be, and is hereby, dismissed this House.

Adjourn.
