Pilkington versus Bolsworth.

Upon reading the Petition of Sir Thomas Pilkington Knight; shewing, "That he hath brought his Writ of Error in Parliament, wherein Edmond Bolsworth is Defendant; and that he hath assigned Errors; and though the said Bolsworth and his Attorney hath had Notice thereof, yet he delayeth to join Issue."

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Edmond Bolsworth be, and is hereby, required to join Issue before Tuesday next, the 28 of this Instant May; or otherwise this House will proceed to hear the said Errors argued ex Parte thereupon.

E. of Peterborough's Bill.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act to make good a Recovery suffered by the Earl of Peterborough and Lord Mordaunt."

Tanned Leather Bill.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for explaining Part of an Act made in the First Year of King James the First, concerning Tanned Leather; and for enabling the Curriers to buy Tanned Leather, and to sell it again curried."

Bernadiston versus Soame, in Error.

This Day the Lord Chief Justice of the Court of King's Bench brought into this House a Transcript of a Writ of Error, to reverse a Judgement given against Bernadiston, at the Suit of Soame.

Rights of the Subject, and Succession to the Crown Bill.

The House was adjourned into a Committee during Pleasure, to consider further of the Bill for settling the Succession of the Crown.

And, after some Debate, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Fauconberg reported, "That the Committee of the House have made some Amendments to the Bill for settling the Succession of the Crown."

Which Amendments were read, and Agreed to.

Heads for a Conference on the additional Poll Bill.

These Lords following were appointed to draw up Reasons, why this House cannot agree with the House of Commons, in leaving out the Clause made by this House in the additional Poll Bill, and report the same to this House:

Any Three; to meet To-morrow Morning, at Nine a Clock, in the Prince's Lodgings.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure; and the Lords attended on the King, in the Prince's Lodgings.

King present.

His Majesty sitting in His Royal Throne, adorned with His Regal Crown and Robes (the Peers being also in their Robes); the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod was commanded to signify His Majesty's Pleasure to the House of Commons, "That they attend Him presently."

Who being come, with their Speaker; His Majesty was pleased to give His Royal Assent to Three Bills.

The Titles were read by the Clerk of the Crown; videlicet,

Bills passed.

"An Act for exempting Their Majesties Protestant Subjects dissenting from the Church of England, from the Penalties of certain Laws."

The Royal Assent was pronounced, by the Clerk of the Parliaments, in these Words,

"Le Roy et la Reyne le veulent."

"An Act for annulling and making void the Attainder of Alicia Lisle Widow."

"An Act for the Sale or Leasing the Capital Messuage (late Henry Coventry's Esquire) in Piccadilly."

To which Bills the Royal Assent was pronounced in these Words,

"Soit fait come il est desire."

This being done, His Majesty withdrew Himself.

The House was resumed.

Rights of the Subject, and Succession to the Crown, Bill.

The House was again put into a Committee, to consider the remaining Clauses in the Bill for settling the Succession of the Crown.

The House being resumed;

The Lord Viscount Newport reported, "That the Opinion of the Committee was, That the Clause in this Bill concerning Non Obstantes be left out; and also the Clause concerning Grants and Pardons to be left out."

Which the House agreed to; and ordered the said Bill to be read the Third Time To-morrow Morning, with the said Amendments.

Otes's Writs of Error.

ORDERED, That To-morrow, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, this House take into Consideration Tytus Otes's Three Writs of Errors depending in this House.

Judges to attend about them.

ORDERED, That Sir Richard Hollaway and Sir Francis Withins do attend this House To-morrow, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, upon the Occasion of Tytus Otes's Cases upon the Three Writs of Error depending in this House.

Absent Lords who left no Proxies.

ORDERED, That this House will take into Consideration To-morrow, what Lords were absent, upon the Calling of the House; and that the Clerk bring in a List of the absent Lords that have no Proxies, or Leave to be absent.

Sir J. Bradshaw versus Northend.

ORDERED, That this House will hear the Cause wherein Sir James Bradshaw is Plaintiff, and Christopher Northend and others Defendants, on Tuesday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; whereof the said Sir James Bradshaw is to cause Notice to be given to the said Christopher Northend, to the End he attend with his Counsel accordingly.

Bill to regulate Non Obstantes.

ORDERED, That the Judges do prepare an Act for regulating Non Obstantes.
