Lords take the Oaths.
This Day these Lords following took the Oaths of Fealty, directed to be taken in the House of Peers, by the Act made in the First Year of Their Majesties Reign, King William and Queen Mary, intituled, "An Act for removing and preventing all Questions and Disputes concerning the assembling and sitting of this present Parliament;" and also made and subscribed the Declaration, in Pursuance of an Act made the Thirtieth Year of King Charles the Second, intituled, "An Act for the more effectual preserving the King's Person and Government, by disabling of Papists from sitting in either House of Parliament:"

"I am commanded by the House to signify to your Lordship, that your Attendance is required, all Excuses set apart, on Monday the 18th of March Instant; and in Case of Sickness, which absolutely disables you, that then you send by Two Persons to attest the same upon Oath."
Absent Lords excused.
The Lord Bishops of Winton and Landaff being indisposed, and so cannot attend the House this Day, but will attend the House on Monday next, are excused for this Day's Absence.
The Lord Archbishop of Yorke, being this Day not well, intends to come on Monday, to take the Oaths; so is excused for this Day's (fn. 1) Absent.
The Lord Bishop of Gloucester is excused for his Absence this Day; he being to preach before the King To-morrow at Hampton Court.
The Earl of Mulgrave is added to the Committee for the Bill for better regulating the Trial of Peers.
Aisley, a Priest, to be examined.
ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Edward Aisley, a Priest, now in the Custody of the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod attending this House, be brought, with the Trunks taken with him, before the Lords Committees appointed to consider what is fit to be done to prevent Papistsfrom staying in London, to be examined by them; and to inspect the Trunks, and make Report to the House.
Bill for removing Papists from London, &c.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for the removing Papists and reputed Papists from the City of London."
ORDERED, That the Consideration of this Bill is committed to the same Committee for sending Papists out of Town.
