Sir C. Musgrave to be examined, about the E. of Essex's Death:
This Day Sir Christopher Musgrave, a Member of the House of Commons, was sworn at this Bar, in order to be examined as a Witness, by the Lords Committees, concerning the Discovery of the Death of the Earl of Essex.
Holland committed, for being concerned in it;
The House being informed, "That John Holland, (fn. 1) now in the Custody of some Soldiers, upon Suspicion of having been concerned in the Death of the late Earl of Essex:"
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said John Holland be, and do stand committed close Prisoner to the Prison of Newgate, there to remain until further Order; and this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.
To the Keeper of Newgate, his Deputy and Deputies.
and Baker to be attached about it.
ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Gentleman Usher at tending this House, his Deputy or Deputies, do forthwith attach the Body of Benjamin Baker, and keep him in safe Custody till further Order of this House; there being great Cause to suspect he knows something relating to the Death of the late Earl of Essex.

Williams versus Read.
Upon reading the Petition of Walter Williams Esquire; shewing, "That he hath an Appeal depending in this House, to which Richard Reade is Defendant (on which a Day of Hearing was appointed the last Parliament), and praying that a Day may be now appointed for hearing thereof:"
It is this Day ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar of this House, on Tuesday the 19th Day of March next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; whereof the said Walter Williams is to cause timely Notice to be given to the said Richard Reade, that he attend with his Counsel accordingly.
Eliz. Williams versus Mellish.
Upon reading the Petition of Elizabeth Williams; shewing, "That she hath an Appeal depending in this House, to which Edward Mellish is Defendant (on which a Day of Hearing was appointed the last Parliament), and praying that a Day may be now appointed for hearing thereof:"
It is this Day ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Monday the 18th Day of March next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; whereof the said Elizabeth Williams is to cause timely Notice to be given to the said Edward Mellish, that he attend with his Counsel accordingly.
Papists to be prevented from staying in London.
The Committee formerly appointed to consider what is fit to be done to prevent Papists from staying in London are to meet this Afternoon, at Three of the Clock; and the Earl of Huntingdon and the Lord Lovelace are added to the said Committee.
Lords to take the Oaths, &c.
ORDERED, That on Saturday next the Lords are to take the Oaths and Declarations appointed by the Acts; in the mean Time, all the Lords in Town are to have Notice to attend this House that Day.
