PRAYERS.
The King present.
His Majesty, sitting in His Royal Throne, adorned with His Regal Crown and Robes, commanded the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod to signify to the Commons, "That they attend His Majesty, with their Speaker, presently."
Who being come; the Lord Chancellor, kneeling before His Majesty, received His Commands; and then said as followeth:
Parliament prorogued.
"My Lords; and you the Knights, Citizens, and Burgesses of the House of Commons,
"The King commands me to let you know, that it is His Royal Pleasure, for many weighty Reasons, that this Parliament be prorogued to the Tenth Day of February next: And this Parliament is prorogued to the Tenth Day of February next."
