William Scabo and William Lassalls did testify, upon Oath made at the Bar of this House, "That the Lord Conyers was in so great an Indisposition of Health, that he was not able without Danger to give his Attendance on this House."
Hereupon the House dispensed with his Absence.
Williams versus Read.
Upon reading the Petition of Walter Williams; shewing, "That the Defendant Richard Reade hath confessed in Chancery, that he hath the Will of Katherine Read, and an Assignment of Richard Reade the Elder to Richard and Anne Brent and others, and another Assignment from Richard and Anne Brent to Sir William Gregory and Richard Witherston; and praying, that the said Richard Reade the Defendant do produce the said Will and Assignments at the Hearing at the Bar of this House:"
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Richard Read the Defendant do produce the said Will and Assignment at the Hearing of the Cause at the Bar of this House on Tuesday next, unless he shew Cause to the contrary on Friday next.
Roberts versus Mellish.
Upon reading the Petition of Marmaduke Roberts; shewing, "That Elizabeth Williams his now Wife hath an Appeal depending in this House; and praying, that he may be made a Party or Plaintiff in the said Appeal:"
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Marmaduke Roberts be, and is hereby, admitted to be a Party or Plaintiff in the said Cause.
