PRAYERS.

Papers seized at Somerset House to be restored.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That all the Papers and Writings belonging to private Persons, which were lately seized, and sealed up and put under a Guard at Somerset House, by Order of this House, be forthwith delivered to the respective Owners thereof: And for so doing, this shall be a sufficient Warrant.

Licences for Papists staying in Town.

ORDERED, To have a Conference with the House of Commons about granting Licenses to Papists to stay in Town.

Committee to consider of Papers, &c. to be used at Coleman's Trial.

Lords Committees appointed to consider what Papers and Letters are fit to be collected and put into Mr. Attorney General's Hands to enable him to prepare the whole Evidence for the Trial of Edward Coleman; whose Lordships are to finish their Meetings for that Purpose by Thursday next:

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Lords with White Staves do attend His Majesty, humbly to desire Him, from this House, "That His Majesty would be pleased to send to the House of Commons for such Papers and Letters as may be necessary for the Perusal of the Lords Committees appointed to collect what is fit for perfecting the Evidence against Edward Coleman."

Address for a Guard of Two Men to attend Titus Otes.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Lords with White Staves do attend His Majesty, humbly to desire Him, from this House, "That His Majesty will be pleased to give Leave, that Tytus Otes may name to His Majesty Two Persons such as His Majesty shall approve of, to be with, and attend the said Tytus Otes upon his necessary Occasions; and that His Majesty will be pleased to give Order to the Lord Treasurer, that such Allowances of Money may be made to the said Tytus Otes, as his necessary Occasions shall require."

Powell, a Merchant, murdered.

The Lord Marquis of Winton reported, "That the Committee have examined several Persons; and, by what appears to them, Mr. Powell is murdered: Therefore their Opinion is, That an Address be made to His Majesty, That he would please to give Order for issuing out a Proclamation, promising a Reward to him that shall discover the Murder."

Address for a Proclamation to discover the Murderer.

Hereupon it is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Lords with White Staves do attend His Majesty, humbly to desire Him, from this House, "That His Majesty will be pleased to issue out His Royal Proclamation, for a Reward to any Person that shall discover what is become of Mr. Powell, a Merchant, who hath been missing some Time, and of whom there is strong Presumptions that he is murdered."

Bill of Attainder of Conyers & al. to be prepared.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That His Majesty's Attorney General be, and is hereby, appointed to prepare a Bill for the Attainders of , to be brought into this House, therein setting a Day for the said Persons to come in; and that then Notice may be taken of the said Bill in the Proclamation to be issued for summoning the said Persons to appear and render themselves.

Address for Removal of Popish Families from London.

Collins and Guavara, Priests, delivered up by the Spanish Ambassador.

The Lord Chancellor acquainted the House, "That the Spanish Ambassador had sent those Two Per sons which he promised His Majesty to deliver up."

One was William Collins, an Irishman, entertained by the Spanish Ambassador.

The said Collins being brought to the Bar, and asked, "Whether he knew one William Greene?" To which he said, "No."

Then William Greene being called in, the said Collins looking upon him, confessed that he knew the said Greene; who repeated what Words he heard the said Collins say (being the same Information he gave this House the 14th of November Instant); which Words Collins denied. The said William Greene further depo sed, "That the said Collins hath confessed to him, that he was a Romish Priest."

Collins committed.

Hereupon the House ordered as followeth:

"Whereas William Collins, appearing this Day at the Bar of this House, was there charged with uttering Words of dangerous Consequence: It is thereupon ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod attending this House, or his Deputies, shall forthwith convey the said William Collins to the Prison of The Gatehouse at Westminster, there to remain a Prisoner, till further Order: And this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.

"To Sir Edward Carteret Knight, Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod; and to the Keeper of The Gatehouse, and their respective Deputies, and every of them."

Guavara, a Spanish Priest, discharged.

The other Person was one Dominico Guavara, alias Mac Quir; who, being brought to the Bar, said, "he was born in Spayn, and not naturalized."

There being no Charge against him, and being a Spanyard: It is ORDERED, That he be returned to the Spanish Ambassador.

Disabling Papists from sitting in Parliament, &c. Bill.

Then the House was adjourned into a Committee, to proceed in the Consideration of the Bill for the more effectual preserving of His Majesty's Person, &c.

The House being resumed;

The Earl of Bridgwater reported, "That the Committee have made a further Progress in this Bill, but many Clauses are yet behind; therefore the Committee desires, that the House may be put again into a Committee on Monday next, to proceed in the said Bill; and that it may be the First Business." Which the House ordered accordingly.

Adjourn.
