Gery's Bill.

The Lord Mohun reported, "That the Committee for the Bill for the settling of certain Lands belonging to William Gery Esquire upon Trustees, to be sold, for the Payment of Debts and Portions, have considered the same, and have heard all Persons concerned, and received their Consents and Desire for the passing thereof; upon which, the Committee thinks fit the said Bill should pass, with some Amendments, which are offered to the Consideration of the House."

There being some Dissatisfaction of the Consent of the said William Gery to the passing of this Bill, because there was only produced his Letter, which was not proved to be his Hand-writing; the Earl of Dover, a Member of this House, gave the House this Account, "That, about a Year since, the said Mr. Gery did tell him, that he did intend to sell his Lands, for Payment of his Debts; and that he had intrusted and commissionated Sir Thomas Gery his Uncle to prepare a Bill for that End and Purpose, to be passed in Parliament, to which he would freely consent."

With which the House was satisfied.

Then the said Amendments were read Twice, and Agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.

Bill against Popish Recusants.

Next, the House was adjourned into a Committee, to consider further of the Bill for preventing the Danger that may happen by Popish Recusants.

The House was resumed.

And the Earl of Bridgwater reported, "That the Committee of the whole House have proceeded further in the Consideration of the Bill for preventing the Danger which may happen by Popish Recusants, and have referred to the same Sub-committee the wording of some Clauses therein; and the Committee desires the Judges may be appointed to assist them, and that the House may be appointed to sit again in a Committee To-morrow Morning, to receive the Report."

All which was ordered accordingly.

The Committee for the Bill of naturalizing of Phillip Lloyd is appointed to sit To-morrow Morning, at Eight of the Clock.

Cholmley&al. versus The Grocers Company & al.

Whereas Counsel was this Day to be heard, at the Bar of this House, upon the Petition and Appeal of Margaret and Elizabeth Cholmely and others Plaintiffs, and the respective Answers and Demurrers of the Wardens and Commonalty of the Mystery or Company of Grocers of London, Sir Thomas Foote, Sir John Cutler, and others, Defendants:

It is this Day ORDERED, That this House will hear Counsel at the Bar, upon the said Petition and Answers and Demurrers, on Friday the One and Twentieth Day of this Instant March, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; whereof all the said Parties are hereby to take Notice, and attend accordingly.

Salmon versus The Hamb. Company.

Whereas Counsel was, by Order of this House dated the Fourteenth Day of March Instant, appointed to be heard at the Bar To-morrow Morning, upon the Petition of Peter Salmon Doctor in Physic Plaintiff, against the Corporation of the Merchant Adventurers of England, commonly called the Hamburgh Company, Rowland Wynn, John Dogget, and others, Defendants:

It is this Day ORDERED, That this House will hear Counsel, upon the Matter contained and prayed in the said Petition, on Saturday the 22th Day of this Instant March, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; whereof the Clerk in Chancery, mentioned in the said Order of this House, as the Petitioner, is to take Notice, and attend with their respective Counsel accordingly.
