Byron's Petition.

ORDERED, That (fn. 1) Monday Morning next is appointed for the Report of William Byron's Petition to be made by the Earl of Dorsett.

Ly. Wentworth's Petition.

ORDERED, That a Petition of the Lady Wentworth shall be read To-morrow Morning.

Message from H. C. with a Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Crouch and others; who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An additional Act for Explanation of the former Acts, and better collecting the Duty of Hearth-money;" to which they desire their Lordships Concurrence.

Message to them, for a Conference about Amendments to the Bill for taxing Adventurers in the Fens; and to remind them of the Bill for Trial of Peers.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Justinian Lewin and Sir Mundiford Brampston, consisting of these Particulars:

1. Whereas, by a Message sent to the Lords, the House of Commons have returned to this House a Bill, intituled, "An Act for taxing and assessing the Lands of the Adventurers within the Great Level of the Fens," together with their agreeing to the Amendments made by this House to the said Bill; the Lords finding that the said Amendments are not entered into the said Bill, according to the Intention of this House and Agreement of the House of Commons, in these Particulars, videlicet, in the 4th Skin, Line 5th, the Words ["to Time,"] inserted more than in the Amendments; in the 23th and 24th Line, the Word ["Richard"] is inserted Twice, instead of Once, before ["Marriott"]; in the 8th Skin, Line 10th, the Word ["non"] is inserted more than is in the Amendments. The Lords do desire, that the House of Commons would give their Lordships a Conference, To-morrow Morning, at Ten of the Clock, in the Painted Chamber, to the End that the said Amendments may be rectified according to the Intentions of both Houses.

Also to put the House of Commons in Mind of the Bill concerning the better regulating of the Trial of the Peers of England, sent down to them some Weeks since.

Ly. Drummond, Sir A. Bateman, & al. versus the Hamburgh Company.

Next, this House took into Consideration what Judgement to give, in the Cause depending in this House, upon the Petition of Dame Dorothy Dromond, Sir Anthony Bateman, and others, Creditors of the Fellowship of Merchants Adventurers of England, commonly called or known by the Name of Hamborough Merchants, having been heard by Counsel on both Sides at this Bar.

And, after a long and serious Debate thereof,

The Question being put, "Whether the Petitioners shall have Relief?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Then this House appointed these Lords following, to consider in what Way and Manner the abovesaid Petitioners shall be relieved; whose Lordships have Power to send for such Persons and Books, Writings or Papers whereby they may the better be informed therein; and make Report of their Proceedings unto this House:

Their Lordships, or any Five; to meet on Saturday next, at Three of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Prince's Lodgings.

Adjourn.
