Bill for exporting Leather.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the humble Petition of divers of the Cordwainers, Curriers, and other Manu facturers of Leather in England, presented this Day to the House, be, and is hereby, referred to the Consideration of the Lords Committees to whose Consideration the Bill, intituled, "An Act for giving Liberty to buy and export Leather and Skins tanned or dressed," stands committed; whose Lordships are to meet thereupon at Three of the Clock this Afternoon, in the Prince's Lodgings.

L. Gerard versus Carr, for a scandalous Paper.

This Day William Carr, according to the Order of this House Yesterday, was brought to the Bar; and the scandalous Paper printed and published against the Lord Gerard of Brandon being shewed unto him, he did own the Contents of the said Paper, and confessed he did give Order it should be dispersed, but could not tell who printed the same.

Upon Consideration hereof, it is ORDERED, That it be referred to the Committee of Privileges, to examine the Matter of Fact concerning this Business; whose Lordships are to meet this Afternoon, and report to the House To-morrow Morning.

It is further ORDERED, That the Marshal of the Prison of the King's Bench, or his Deputy, shall bring the Bodies of William Carr Gentleman, and Stephen Carr, now in his Custody, before the Lords Committees of Privileges, at Three of the Clock this Afternoon; and also to the Bar of this House To-morrow Morning, at Ten of the Clock: And it is further ORDERED, That Grace the Wife of the said William Carr be summoned to attend the Lords Committees for Privileges this Afternoon, and on the House of Peers To-morrow Morning at Ten of the Clock.

Message from the King, concerning an Adjournment.

The Lord Arlington delivered a Message to this House, to this Effect, from the King: "That whereas His Majesty signified His Desire that there might be an Adjournment of both Houses of Parliament as upon this Day, hoping by this Time the Houses would have dispatched the Businesses as were in Agitation; which not being done, His Majesty commanded him to acquaint their Lordships, that His Majesty's Pleasure was, to have the Adjournment on Thursday next."

Sir R. Wiseman's and Plott's Bill.

The Earl of Essex reported, "That the Committee have considered the Bill for settling the Lands therein mentioned upon Sir Richard Wiseman; and do think it fit to pass, with a small Alteration."

Which, being read Twice, was Agreed to.

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for settling the Lands therein mentioned upon Sir Richard Wiseman and John Plott, and their Heirs, to enable them the better to perform a Trust."

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill, with the Amendment, shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. with it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Mundiford Brampston and Doctor Crofts:

To return them the Bill for settling Lands upon Sir Richard Wiseman and John Plott; which the Lords agree to, with a small Amendment, and desire the Concurrence of the Commons therein.

Writs of Certiorari Bill.

The Committee for the Bill concerning Certioraris are to meet To-morrow in the Afternoon; and the Lord Viscount Mountagu and the Lord Petre are added to that Committee; and the Lord Chief Baron, Baron Adkins, and Justice Morton, are to assist the said Committee.

Skinner versus Thompson and Riccards.

(fn. 1) Answer of Maurice Thompson and Sir Andrew (fn. 1) Riccards to the Petition of Thomas Skynner Merchant, (fn. 1) was presented to this House, and read. (fn. 1)

Ash, sent for for sueing Brunsell, a Proctor in Convocation, discharged.

Whereas, by Order of this House, dated the Fourteenth Day of November last, Thomas Ash, of Balbrough, in the County of Derby, an Attorney at Law, was summoned to appear at the Bar of this House, for causing Henry Brunsell Clerk, and Prebendary of Ely, a Proctor for the said Church in the Convocation, to be arrested, in November, 1666, during the Sitting of the Convocation, contrary to the Privilege of Parliament, who hath according to the said Order given his Attendance on the House this Day; and the said Henry Brunsell doth not appear, to prosecute the said Offence:

It is ORDERED, That the said Thomas Ash be, and is hereby, discharged from any further Attendance on this House, for or concerning the said Breach of the Privilege of Parliament.
