Month's Assessment Bill.

The Lord Chamberlain reported, "That the Committee for the Bill for granting One Month's Assessment to His Majesty have considered of the said Bill; and think it sit to pass, without any Alterations."

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for granting One Month's Assessment to His Majesty."

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message from H. C. with a Bill; and to return the Bill concerning Distresses for Rent.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Prynn and others; who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act for avoiding unnecessary Suits and Delays;" passed by the Commons, who desire the Concurrence of this House therein.

2. The Commons return a Bill sent from their Lordships, for a more effectual proceeding upon Distresses and Avowries for Rent; to which they have made some Amendments, and added Provisos, and desire their Lordships Concurrence.

Which said Provisos and Amendments were read Twice; and, upon Consideration thereof, the Bill, with those Amendments and Provisos, were re-committed to the former Committee named for this Bill. And their Lordships are to meet this Afternoon, at Three of the Clock, in the Hebrewe School; and the Judges now present to assist their Lordships.

Blanquefort & al. Nat. Bill.

ORDERED, That the Consideration of this Bill is committed to that Committee as is appointed for the Bill to prevent the Importation of Foreign Cattle and Fish.

Bill to continue the one for regulating the Press.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for Continuance of a former Act for regulating the Press."

ORDERED, That the Consideration of this Bill is committed to that Committee that is appointed for the Bill concerning Distresses and Avowries for Rent; who are to meet presently after the Committee hath considered of that Bill.

Bill for avoiding unnecessary Suits.

Non-conformists Restraining Bill.

The Earl of Bridgwater reported, "That the Committee have considered the Bill for restraining Nonconformists from inhabiting in Corporations; and think it fit to pass, with some Alterations, which they leave to their Lordships Consideration."

The said Alterations were read Twice: And, upon Debate thereof,

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill shall be re-committed?"

It was Resolved in the Negative.

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for restraining Non-conformists from inhabiting in Corporations."

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill, with the Alterations and Amendments now read, shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Additional Bill to prevent the Plague spreasling.

Also the Earl of Bridgwater reported, "That the Committee have considered the Bill for making further Provision for such as be infected with the Plague; to which their Lordships have added Two Provisos, and made some Alterations and Amendments therein, which are offered to the Judgement of the House."

The said Provisos and Alterations, being read Twice, were Agreed to.

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill, with the several Alterations and Provisos now read, shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Bill for avoiding unnecessary Suits, &c.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for avoiding unnecessary Suits and Delays."

ORDERED, That the Consideration of this Bill is committed to the same Committee as the Bill is for a more effectual Proceeding upon Distresses and Avowries for Rent.

Message to H. C. to return Bills; and that the Lords have passed the Month's Assessment Bill.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Mundiford Brampston and Sir Nathaniell Hobart:

To return the Bill for restraining of Non-conformists from inhabiting in Corporations, in which this House hath made some Alterations and Amendments, and desires the Concurrence of the House of Commons therein.

2. To return the Bill for making further Provision for such as be infected with the Plague; wherein their Lordships have added Two Provisos, and made some Alterations, and desire their Concurrence therein.

3. To let the Commons know, that this House hath passed the Bill for granting One Month's Assessment to His Majesty.
