Bill to repeal Part of an Act concerning Prize Goods.

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for repealing of Part of an Act of Parliament, intituled, An Act directing the Prosecution of such as are accountable for Prize Goods."

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message from H. C. with the E. of Thanet's Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Solomon Swale and others; who returned the Act for confirming a Deed of Settlement betwixt the Earl of Thannett and his Younger Brethren; wherein they have made a small Alteration, and desire their Lordships Concurrence thereunto.

E. of Mulgrave and Sir H. Cholmley's Bill.

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for enabling the Earl of Mulgrave and Sir Hugh Chomeley to make Leases to the King."

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. with Bills.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Wm. Childe and Sir Thomas Escourt;

To deliver to them these Two Bills following, and desire their Concurrence therein:

1. The Act for repealing of Part of an Act of Parliament, intituled, "An Act directing the Prosecution of such as are accountable for Prize Goods."

2. The Bill for enabling the Earl of Mulgrave and Sir Hugh Chomeley to make Leases to the King.

Their Lordships, or any Five; to meet To-morrow Morning, in the Prince's Lodgings, at Nine of the Clock; and have Power to adjourn as they think fit.

Message from H. C. with a Bill; to return the following ones;

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Thomas Mcares and others; which consisted of several Particulars:

1. They brought up a Bill, intituled, "An additional Act for the better ordering and collecting the Duty of Excise;" to which they desire their Lordships Concurrence.

2. They return Two Bills sent down with Alterations and Amendments, to which they agree with their Lordships:

1. The Bill concerning the River of Avon.

2. The Bill concerning the repairing of Highways in the County of Hertford.

3. They return these Bills, with some Amendments:

1. The Bill concerning the River of Medway.

2. The Bill concerning the Lord Edward Pawlett. To which they desire their Lordships Concurrence.

and to remind the Lords of these Public Bills.

Also to put their Lordships in Mind of certain Public Bills remaining with their Lordships; to which they desire their Lordships would give as much Dispatch as with Conveniency may be.

The particular Bills are:

1. The Bill for taking away Damage Clear.

2. The Bill to prevent Delays in extending Statutes, (fn. 1) Judgements, and Recognizances.

3. The Bill to prevent Arrest of Judgements, and superseding Executions.

4. The Bill for limiting of Costs in trivial and vexatious Actions.

Sutton Marsh Bill:

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act to secure the Improvement of Sutton Marsh."

Mrs. Oldsworth's Pet. about it.

Upon this, a Petition of Mrs. Oldsworth, Widow, was read; desiring to be heard before the aforesaid Bill do pass.

ORDERED, That the aforesaid Bill is committed to the same Committee as the Bill concerning Sir Charles Stanley is; and to hear Parties concerned therein.

Bill to take away Damage Clear.

ORDERED, That the Committee for the Bill concerning Damage Clear shall meet To-morrow Morning, at Nine of the Clock.

E. of Thanet's Bill.

Next, the Alteration in the Earl of Thannett's Bill was read Twice; and the House adhered to the Words ["Lord Clifford"], with the Addition of the Word ["Landsbrough."]

Also the Lords added a Proviso to the said Bill; which, being read Thrice, was Agreed to, and ordered to be communicated to the House of Commons, at a Conference, for their Concurrence.

Berisford's Bill.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for Sale of certain Lands, in the County of Lyncolne, for Payment of the Debts of Christopher Berisford."

Bill to continue the Act for regulating Printing.

The Bishop of London reported, "That the Committee for the Bill for continuing the former Act for regulating the Press have had Consideration of the same; and think it fit to pass as it is, without any Alteration."

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for Continuance of a former Act for regulating the Press."

And the Question being put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Wildmore Waste Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for the settling and improving a certain Waste and Moor, called Wildmore, in the County of Lyncolne."

ORDERED, That the Consideration of this Bill is committed to these Lords following:

Mr. Attorney General to assist the Committee.

Their Lordships, or any Five; to meet on Tuesday next, at Three of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Prince's Lodgings; and to adjourn as they shall think fit.

E. of Thanet's Bill.

ORDERED, That this House will have a Conference with the House of Commons To-morrow Morning, concerning the Alteration and Proviso to the Earl of Thannett's Bill.

Additional Bill for better collecting the Excise.

King to be moved to prolong the Session.

ORDERED, That the Lord Chamberlain is appointed to move the King, from this House, that He would please to prolong this Session of Parliament for Two or Three Days longer than is limited by His Majesty.

The Question being put, "Whether the Question shall be put, Whether this House shall be adjourned till Ten of the Clock To-morrow Morning?"
