PRAYERS.

Writs of Error Bill.

Upon Report of the Earl of Bridgwater, "That the Committee have considered of the Bill concerning Writs of Error; and that their Lordships think fit to make some small Alterations therein."

They being read Twice, were Agreed to, and the Bill ordered to be engrossed accordingly.

Bill to prevent Stoppages in Westm. Streets.

The Earl of Dorsett acquainted the House, "That the Committee that were appointed to consider of the Bill for preventing the Stoppage in the Streets do desire that One of the Judges may be appointed to assist them in the Penning of some Clauses."

Hereupon Mr. Baron Turner was ordered to assist the said Committee.

Ashdown Forest, &c. Bill.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for the Improvement of Ashdowne Forrest, and the Park called The Broyle Parke."

E. Northumb. excused.

ORDERED, That this House dispenses with the Absence of the Earl of Northumb.

ORDERED, That the Lord Petre be added to the Committee for Privileges.

ORDERED, That the Lord Howard of Ch. is added to the Committee for the Earl of Kent's Bill; and the Duke of Richmond, the Lord Poulett, and the Lord Cornwallis, are added to the Bill of Mr. Coppleston.

E. of Portland's and Whitlock's Bill.

ORDERED, That the Bill concerning Satisfaction for disbursing Monies for the Benefit of Infants is recommitted.

Message from H. C. with Bills.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir John Birkenbead and others; who brought up several Bills, passed the House of Commons, whereunto their Lordships Concurrence is desired:

1. "An Act to empower Sir John Drake and others to make Sale of Lands, for Payment of the Portion of Ellen Brisco Widow."

2. "An Act to enable Edward Challoner Esquire to make Provision for Anne his Wife, and his Younger Children."

3. "An Act for settling the Charitable Gift of John Guest."

4. "An Act for the naturalizing of Charlott Hessen Killegrewe and others."

ORDERED, That such Committees as do not meet this Afternoon are to meet To-morrow in the Afternoon.

Ricar, Ld. Craven's Servant, Privilege.

Upon the Oaths of Thomas Cooke and Ralph Marshall, at the Bar, "That one Lewis Ricar, a menial Servant of the Lord Craven's, was lately arrested, by Page, a Serjeant at Mace belonging to The Woodstreet Compter, at the Suit of one George James, contrary to the Privilege of Parliament; and they being foretold that the said Lewis Ricar was Servant to the Lord Craven," who also averred him in the House to be his Lordship's menial Servant:

James and Page to be attached, for arresting him.

It is therefore ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Lewis Ricar, being arrested and detained in Custody contrary to the Privilege of Parliament, is forthwith, upon Sight of this Order, to be released of his said Restraint or Imprisonment; and also that the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, or his Deputy, shall attach the Body of the said George James, and also the Body of the said Page, and forthwith bring them both, as Delinquents, before the Lords in Parliament, to answer their aforesaid Offences.

Glass Bottles Bill rejected.

Upon hearing all Parties at this Bar, by their Counsel, concerning the Matter contained in the Bill for the Manufacture of Glass Bottles; and upon Consideration thereof:

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill reported from the Committee for making of Glass Bottles shall be engrossed?"

It was Resolved in the Negative.
