Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for the settling of the Lands of the Earl of Kent and the Lord Lucas, on the Marriage of the said Earl with the Daughter and Heir Apparent of the said Lord Lucas."
E. of Portland's and Whitlock's Bill.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for the settling of Lands, and Satisfaction of Monies disbursed for the Benefit of Infants, and to compose Suits in Law against them."
ORDERED, That the Consideration of this Bill is referred to these Lords following:
Their Lordships, or any Five; to meet on Monday next, at Three of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Prince's Lodgings.
Glass Bottles Bill.
The Earl of Dorsett reported, "That the Committee have considered of the Bill for the Manufacture of Glass Bottles, wherein they have made some Alterations." Which were read Twice.
And a Motion being made, "That divers Persons therein concerned did desire to be heard, by Counsel, at the Bar, before the passing of the said Bill:"
It is ORDERED, That on Tuesday Morning next this House will hear all Parties therein concerned, by their Counsel, upon the Matter contained in the said Bill.
Committees to meet.
ORDERED, That the Committee for repealing the Acts of the Long Parliament, and likewise the Committee for the Bill concerning regulating Writs of Error in the Exchequer, do meet on Tuesday next, in the Afternoon.
ORDERED, That the Lord Viscount Say & Seale be added to the Committee of Privileges.
Coppleston's Bill.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for vesting certain Lands of John Coppleston Gentleman in Francis Vincent Knight and Baronet, Thomas Waldsgrave Esquire, Charles Cornwallis Esquire, Thomas Westlake, and their Heirs, to sell, for Payment of his Debts."
ORDERED, That the Consideration of this Bill is committed to the same Committee as is appointed to consider of the Bill concerning Infants, read this Day; and all Parties concerned in the Bill are to be heard.
Message from H. C. to give Thanks to the King, for His Answer to the Petition concerning Priests and Jesuits.
A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Solicitor General and others:
To inform their Lordships, that the House of Commons, desires to return humble Thanks to the King, for His Gracious Answer and Message lately received, concerning the Petition of both Houses of Parliament touching Jesuits and Romish Priests; and do intend to make it their Requests, that His Majesty will please to give Order for the Printing and Publishing of the said Petition, and His Majesty's Speech made in the Banqueting House, and His Answer to the said Petition; wherein the House of Commons desires their Lordships Concurrence; and did intimate, that they intend not to go as a House, but in such a Way as their Lordships shall think fit to go.
Hereupon the Lords ORDERED, To concur with the House of Commons in their Desires. And Resolved, That Six Lords should be appointed to attend the King for this Purpose, and to join with a proportionable Number of the House of Commons.
The Answer returned was:
Answer.
That their Lordships concur with the House of Commons, in attending the King, to the End and Purpose as they desire; and that their Lordships will appoint Six Lords to go from this House, with a proportionable Number of their House: To that End, their Lordships will send to the King, to know what Time He will please to appoint they shall attend Him; and accordingly the House of Commons shall hear from their Lordships.
Committee to attend the King, with the Thanks of the Houses.
Then this House nominated the Lord Privy Seal, the Duke of Albemarle, the Bishop of London and the Bishop of Winton, the Lord Berkley of Berkley, and the Lord Pagett, to attend the King, from this House.
And the Lord Chamberlain was appointed to wait upon the King, to know His Pleasure, what Time these Lords with a proportionable Number of the House of Commons shall wait upon Him.
Committee for Highways, &c.
ORDERED, That the Committee to consider of the Stoppage of the Streets do meet on Monday Morning next, at Nine of the Clock; and the Lord Wharton and the Lord Paget are added to the said Committee.
