Writs of Error Bill.
Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act concerning Abatements of Writs of Error, upon Judgements in the Exchequer."
Heralds Bill for recording Descents, &c.
The Earl of Bridgwater reported, "That the Committee for the Bill concerning the Heralds do find some Difficulty in some Particulars of the Bill; therefore desire that some of the Judges may be appointed to assist the Committee therein: And also the Committee finds that some Matters contained in that Bill may concern the Jurisdiction of the Earl Marshal's Court; therefore it is desired that some Lords that are Commissioners for the executing the Office of Earl Marshal may be added to the said Committee."
Whereupon it is ORDERED, That the Lord Treasurer, the Lord Great Chamberlain, and the Earl of Carlile, be added to the said Committee: And Baron Atkins and Baron Turner are to attend the Lords Committees from Day to Day, as Occasion serves, to assist their Lordships therein.
Marq. of Worcester's Engine Bill.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act to enable Edward Marquis of Worcester to receive the Benefit and Profit of a Water-commanding Engine by him invented; One Tenth Part whereof is appropriated for the Benefit of the King's Majesty, His Heirs and Successors."
ORDERED, That the Consideration of this Bill is committed to these Lords following; videlicet,
Their Lordships, or any Five; to meet on Saturday next, in the Afternoon, at Three of the Clock, in the Prince's Lodgings.
ORDERED, That the Earls of Midd. and Norwich, and the Lord Ward, are added to the Committee for the Bill concerning the Manufacture of Glass Bottles.
Bill for repealing Acts of the Long Parliament.
ORDERED, That these Lords following are appointed to prepare a Bill, for the Repeal of all the Acts of Parliament made in the Parliament begun the Third Day of November, 1640; and in the same Bill to prepare Clauses of enacting such several Bills as shall be thought fit by the said Committee, or directed by the House, whereby the Subjects may find themselves in Possession of as great Benefits and Security as they enjoyed by virtue of those Acts of Parliament, with such Clauses of Pardon, Indemnity, and Security, as are necessary with reference to the said Acts as shall stand repealed; and also to take into Consideration the Journals of this House made in the Long Parliament, and to report their Opinions what they think fit to be done with them:
Their Lordships, or any Nine; to meet on Monday next, in the Afternoon, at Three of the Clock, in the Prince's Lodgings.
Message from H. C. about Peers Evidences concerning Advowsons, &c.
A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Thomas Meares Knight and others:
To let their Lordships know, that whereas they received a Message lately from their Lordships, for delivering to the Clerk of the House of Peers such Deeds, Evidences, and Writings, concerning Advowsons and Rectories Impropriate belonging to several Peers of this Kingdom, which were taken from them for their Loyalty in adhering to His Majesty in the late Troubles, which were lately in the Custody of the Clerk of the House of Commons, to the End they might be delivered to the several and particular Lords to whom they properly belong, according to an Act of Parliament lately passed; the House of Commons have made Enquiry after those Deeds and Evidences, and do find that they were in the Custody of Mr. Jessop, but have been lately taken out of his Hands by express Warrant from the King, and delivered into the Possession of the Lord Fanshaw, His Majesty's Remembrancer in the Exchequer, and are now in his Custody.
The King to be applied to, about them.
Hereupon it is ORDERED, That the Lord Privy Seal and the Lord Mohun do move the King from this House, and desire His Majesty that the above mentioned Writings may be brought into this House, that so they may be restored, according to the Act of Parliament.
Message from H. C. with a Vote concerning Jesuits and Priests.
A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Henry North and others:
To desire their Lordships Concurrence in a Vote made by the House of Commons, "That His Majesty, having most graciously declared His Zeal for the Prevention of the Growth of Popery, be humbly desired to issue out His Proclamation, to command all Jesuits, and all English, Irish, and Scotch Popish Priests, and all such other Priests as have taken Orders from the See of Rome, or by Authority thereof (except such Foreign Jesuits or Priests as by Contract of Marriage are to attend the Persons of either of the Queens, or by the Law of Nations to attend Foreign Ambassadors), to depart this Kingdom by a Day."
ORDERED, That this Message shall be taken into Consideration on Monday Morning next; against which Time the Earl of St. Albans is desired to procure such Extracts of the Articles of Marriage of the Queen Mother as concern Matters of Religion, and present them to this House.
The Answer returned was:

That this House will take their Vote now brought up into very serious Consideration; and will return an Answer by Messengers of their own.
Sheircliffe's Petition.
Upon reading the Petition of Thomas Sheircliffe this Day in the House; alledging, "That he is not guilty of counterfeiting the Protection of the Lord Hunsdon, for which he is now in Custody:"
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition is hereby referred to the Committee of Privileges, to consider of the said Petition, and to examine the Business, and call such Parties before them as their Lordships shall think fit; and afterwards to make Report to this House.
