Poor Bill, and Norwich Stuffs Bill.

ORDERED, That the Committee for the Bill for Relief of the Poor do meet To-morrow Morning; also the Committee for Norwich Stuffs do meet at the same Time.

Messages from H. C. with Bills;--and to return some.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by the Lord Bruce and others; who brought up these Bills following:

1. "An Act for the making navigable of the Rivers of Wye and Lugg, and the Rivers and Brooks in the Counties of Hereford, Gloucester, and Monmouth;" to which their Lordships Concurrence is desired.

2. To return certain Bills sent down from their Lordships, with some Alterations, to which the Commons agree with their Lordships:

1. "An Act to enable William Mylward to sell Land."

2. "An Act to confirm certain Letters Patents, made, and to be made, to George Duke of Albemarle."

3. "An Act to enable Trustees to sell Land, for Payment of the Debts of Sir James Enyon."

4. "An Act against Quakers."

5. "An Act to enable Henry Nevill to sell Land, for Payment of Debts."

6. "An Act to enable Thomas Pecke to sell Land, for Payment of Debts."

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Thomas Gore and others; who brought up these Bills following, to which they desire their Lordships Concurrence:

1. "An Act for preventing of Theft and Rapine upon the Northern Borders of England."

2. "An Act for confirming a Sale of Land, made by John Copleston Gentleman, to John Mayne Merchant."

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Solomon Swale and others; who returned these Bills following:

1. "An Act for the Reversing the Earl of Strafford's Attainder;" to which they agree, without any Alteration.

2. The Bill concerning confirming of a Decree made on the Behalf of Thomas Deereham Esquire, sent down with an Amendment, to which the Commons agree with their Lordships.

Pilchard Fishery Bill.

ORDERED, That the Committee for the Bill concerning Pilchard Fishing do meet this Afternoon, at Three of the Clock; and the Earl of Bollingbrooke is added to the said Committee.

Militia Bill.

Next, the Earl of Bridgwater reported the Bill for ordering the Forces of this Kingdom, with such Alterations, Amendments, and Provisos, as have been made by the Committee of the whole House.

The said Alterations and Amendments were read Twice.

And a Proviso concerning the assessing of the Peers was offered to the Consideration of the House, and read, in hæc verba, videlicet, "Provided always, and be it Enacted, That the Peers of this Realm shall, according to the Proportions in this Act appointed, be assessed and charged with Horse and Arms, by Five or more of His Majesty's Privy Council, being Peers of this Realm, and not otherwise; any Thing in this Act to the contrary thereof notwithstanding."

And, after Debate thereof, the Question being put, "Whether this Proviso now read shall be received, and admitted into the Bill?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative. Then,

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for ordering the Forces in the several Counties of this Kingdom."

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill, with the Alterations, Amendments, and Provisos, now read, shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

ORDERED, That this Bill shall be sent to the House of Commons To-morrow Morning, for their Concurrence in the Alterations and Provisos.

ORDERED, That the Duke of Bucks is added to the Committee for the Bill concerning the Customs.

Committees adjourned.

ORDERED, That all those Committees which were appointed to meet this Afternoon, shall meet To-morrow in the Afternoon.

Adjourn.
