Bastard versus Neave.

ORDERED, That John Neave be brought to this Bar To-morrow Morning; he being attached for Breach of Privilege, in arresting Joseph Bastard, Servant to the Lord Mohun.

Answer from H. C.

The Messengers sent Yesterday to the House of Commons return with this Answer:

That they have delivered their Message concerning their Lordships Order for burning the Covenant.

Message from thence, with a Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Solicitor, &c.; who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act for securing and preserving His Majesty's Person and Government against treasonable and seditious Practices and Attempts;" wherein the House of Commons desires their Lordships Concurrence.

Bill for reversing the E. of Strafford's Attainder.

The Earl of Dorsett reported from the Committee, the Bill for reversing the Attainder of the Earl of Strafford, as fit to pass, with some Alterations and Amendments; which were read Twice.

And, after a long Debate, it is ORDERED, To be re-committed to the same Committee.

And Two Questions were proposed; (videlicet,)

"1. Whether the Committee shall state the Matter of Fact, and report the Force to the House?"

"2. Whether the Words, ["null and void"] shall be left out in this Bill?"

Then the Question being put, "Whether the First Question shall be first put?"

It was Resolved in the Negative.

Then this Question was put, "Whether the Words ["null and void"] shall be left out in this Bill?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Elliott released.

Upon the humble Submission of Phillip Elliot Minister, at whose Suit the Goods of a Servant of the Lord Willoughby, a Member of Parliament, were seized, contrary to the Privileges of Parliament; which Submission was signified by his Lordship:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords in Parliament assembled, That the said Phillip Elliott is hereby freed and released of his present Restraint that now lies upon him by reason of the Breach of Privilege as aforesaid, paying his Fees: And this to be a sufficient Warrant to the Serjeant at Arms, in whose Custody he is, in that Behalf.

Ld. Berkeley and Ld. Delawar.

It is ORDERED, That the Cause between the Lord De la Ware and the Lord Berkeley of Berkeley, concerning the Precedency of Place, is put off till Thursday the 30th of May Instant; and then Counsel to be heard on both Sides.
