Upon Report of the Lords Committees for Petitions of the Case between Walter Longe and the Lady Jermin, and an Order thereupon brought in, and offered to the House, and read;
The Question being put, "Whether to agree to this Order, as it is now brought in by the Committee?"
It was Resolved in the Affirmative. (Here enter it.)
Warner restored to be Master of the King's Barge;
Upon reading the Petition of Nowell Warner, Master of the Barge to King James and King Charles, "which Place he enjoyed until 1648, and then was dismissed by Order of the House of Commons; therefore prayed, he and his Fellows might be restored to their Places again."
Which was accordingly ordered, until the King's Pleasure to the contrary.
and Charnock to be Serjeant at Arms.
Upon reading the Petition of George Charnock:
It is ORDERED, That he shall be restored to his Place of Serjeant at Arms, until the King gives further Order; and that he immediately attend His Majesty, at His coming into England, with His Mace.
Answer from H. C.
Doctor Childe, &c. return with this Answer from the House of Commons, concerning the Alteration of the Date 1651, to be made 1648, in the Duke of Bucks' Order:
(fn. 1) That they will return an Answer, by Messengers of their own.
Message to them, with the Order about the King's Lands.
A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Doctor Childe and Mr. Harrington:
To desire Concurrence in the Order concerning preventing Waste upon the King's Lands.
Earl of Lincoln, Privilege.
ORDERED, That these Persons that arrested the Earl of Lyncolne shall be sent for, as Delinquents.
Creation and Custom-money.
ORDERED, That the Committee for Privileges shall have Power to send for all Persons as they think sit, that have denied them their Creation-money; and to consider of all Matters as are concerning Creation-money and Custom-money, and all other Dues belonging to the Peers of this Kingdom.
Order to bring in the King's Goods.
ORDERED, That all Persons that have any of the King's Goods, Jewels, or Pictures, shall bring them in to the Committee for the King's Goods, &c. within Seven Days after the Date hereof.
Poor's Money.
ORDERED, That the Money collected in this House shall be distributed, by the Sub-committee, to the Poor of Westm.
Bill for employing the Poor.
ORDERED, That it be referred to the Committee for Petitions, to prepare a Bill for the setting the Poor of this Kingdom on Work, and present the same to this House.
Lady Jermin and Long, concerning the Office of Register in Chancery.
Upon a Report made unto this House, by the Lords Committees for Petitions, concerning the Right and Title which the Lady Jermin, in Behalf of herself and her Children, on the one Part, and Walter Longe Esquire on the other Part, do make to the Register's Office in Chancery, and to the Keeping of the Books, Records, and Writings, thereto belonging, as also to the Profits arising thereby; and that Counsel was fully heard before their Lordships, on both Sides, concerning the Title to, and Possession of, the said Office, and of the Books, Records, and Writings, thereto belonging:
It is ORDERED, by the Lords in Parliament assembled, That all the Books, Records, and Writings whatsoever, belonging to the said Office (which have been, by the said Walter Long, or any Agents or Assistants for him, removed) be forthwith delivered, by the said Walter Long, into the Hands of William Goldsborough and Jaspar Edwards, sworn Officers of the Court of Chancery, in whose Hands they formerly were kept, and from whom the said Walter Long did remove and take them away; and likewise that all the Profits of the said Office, whereto either the said Lady Jermin, or Walter Long aforesaid, pretend any Right and Title, be stayed, upon Accompt (to be made to this House) in the Hands of the said William Goldsborough and Jaspar Edwards, to the said Register's Office in Chancery belonging, until the Right and Title aforesaid shall be fully determined.
Order for bringing in the King's Goods, &c.
It is this Day ORDERED, by the Lords in Parliament assembled, That all such Person and Persons, as have in their Custody, or in the Possession of any other in Trust to their Use, any Jewels, Plate, Pictures, or any other Goods or Household Stuff, belonging to His Majesty, do bring them to the Lords Committees, to consider and receive Information concerning the King's Jewels, Goods, &c. or to their Assigns, within Seven Days next after the Date hereof, upon Forfeiture of all such Goods as shall not be brought in according to this Order, and within the Time aforementioned; and that this Order be forthwith printed and published.
Serjeant Lee and Serjeant Bishoprestored to their Places.
ORDERED, That Serjeant Lee and Serjeant Bishop, formerly being Servants to His late Majesty, and being put out of their Places, shall hereby be restored to their Places, and attend His Majesty as Serjeants of the Mace, until the Pleasure of His Majesty be further signified.
