Message from H. C. with a Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Allen Broderick, &c.; who brought up a Bill to enable the Master of The Rolls to make Leases of Houses belonging to him.

Master of the Rolls' Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act empowering the Master of The Rolls for the Time being to make Leases for Years, in order to new-build the old Houses belonging to The Rolls."

Sir W. Wray's Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for enabling Sir Wm. Wray to sell Lands, for Payment of Debts, and raising Portions for younger Children."

Committees to meet.

ORDERED, That all Committees that are sine Die do meet To-morrow Morning, at Nine of the Clock.

Faunt's Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act to enable George Faunt to sell and convey Part of his Lands, for Payment of Debts and Legacies."

Drake brought to the Bar, and his Impeachment read.

This Day William Drake, Citizen and Merchant of London, was brought to this Bar, as a Delinquent; who having kneeled until he was bid to stand up, the Lord Chancellor told him, "That he stood impeached, by the House of Commons, and all the Commons of England; which Impeachment should be read unto him."

And accordingly it was read; and the Lord Chancellor demanded his Answer to the same.

And the said Drake confessed, "he did write and publish the Book mentioned in the Impeachment; but he had no Intent of Sedition thereby." He said, "he was heartily sorry for writing and publishing of it; and submitted himself to their Lordships Mercy."

ORDERED, That the Consideration of this Business shall be upon Saturday Morning; at which Time the Judges are to be present; and Drake to be ready, if Occasion be.

Bill to attaint the Murderers of the late King.

Then (fn. 1) the House was adjourned into a Committee, to take into Consideration the Bill of Attainder of the Murderers of the late King.

The House being resumed;

The Lord Chamberlain reported, "That the Committee are of Opinion, That the Matter in the First Sheet, to the Sixth Line in the Second Sheet, is fit to pass as it is." Which the House agreed to.

"That the Second Paragraph is fit to pass as it is." Which is agreed to.

"That it be referred to the Lord Chief Baron, Mr. Justice Tyrrell, and Mr. Attorney General, to advise with the rest of the Judges, to consider of the Proviso in the 23th Line in the 3d Skin, whether it is necessary to make any further Provision therein, for securing the Estates of the Persons of those who were supposed to be Delinquents; and, if Occasion be, to offer such additional Words as may be effectual; and Report to be made to this House Tomorrow Morning: Also to consider of the Five Provisos now offered to the House, to see whether they are not sufficiently provided in the Bill." Which the House confirmed.

"Also that, there being Two Provisos offered to the Committee, videlicet, one of the Marquis of Worcester, the other of the Lord Herbert, which the Committee have thought fit to refer to the Consideration of a Sub-committee, who are to hear Counsel if it be desired, and afterwards to make Report to the House:
