Message from H. C. with a Bill to prevent Dispute; concerning this Parliament.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Hennage Fynch Esquire; who said,

"The Commons assembled in Parliament have framed a Bill, intituled, "An Act for removing and preventing all Questions and Disputes concerning the Assembling and Sitting of this present Parliament;" wherein they desire their Lordships Concurrence."

Hodie 1^a et 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for removing and preventing all Questions and Disputes concerning the Assembling and Sitting of this present Parliament."

ORDERED, That this Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, to be taken into Consideration presently.

Accordingly the House was adjourned into a Committee during Pleasure.

The House was resumed.

It is ORDERED, That the Matter of this Bill be referred to the Consideration of all the Judges and Assistants of this House, who are to report their Opinions therein to this House on Monday Morning next.

Petitions to be offered to the Committee.

ORDERED, That all Petitions shall be offered to the Committee for Petitions.

ORDERED, That the Earl Rivers be added to the Committee for Petitions.

Swallow, to have Rooms in The Power.

Upon reading the Petition of Thomas Swalowe:

It is ORDERED, That he shall have the Possession of those Rooms in The Tower mentioned in his Petition; for the other Part, concerning the Coining of Money with the King's Stamp, the House will take it into Consideration.

The Preamble to the Duke of Bucks' Order was read, and ordered to be added to it.

Message from H. C. with a Declaration concerning Easter Term.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Francis Bacon; who acquainted this House, That the House of Commons have passed a Declaration for cutting off some Returns in Easter Term next, wherein their Lordships Concurrence is desired.

The said Declaration was read, and Agreed to.

The Answer returned was:

That this House concurs with them in this Declaration.

Message to them, with the D. of Bucks' Order, and the King's Letter, &c.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Hobert and Mr. Glascocke:

To deliver to them the Order concerning the Duke of Bucks, and to desire their Consent therein.

Also to send down to them the Letter and Declaration of the King, which * was brought up from thence.

Ordinance for a Committee of Safety.

ORDERED, That the Earl of Pembrooke, Earl Derby, Earl of Bridgwater, Viscount Conway, Lord Brooke, Lord Willoughby, Lord Hunsdon, and Craven, are added to the Committee for preparing an Ordinance to constitute a Committee of Safety of both Houses.

Parr's Petition.

Upon reading the Petition of Daniel Parr:

It is ORDERED, To be referred to the Committee for Petitions; and all Parties to be heard.

ORDERED, That the Lord Chief Justice Newdigate shall attend the Committee for Petitions on Monday Morning.

Lords to receive the Sacrament.

ORDERED, That the Lords do receive the Sacrament in King H. the Seventh' Chapel.

L. Meath, a Pass to Holland.

ORDERED, That the Lord of Meath shall have a Pass, to go into Holland.

Preachers at the Thanksgiving.

ORDERED, That Mr. Buck do preach, at the next Day of Thanksgiving, in the room of Mr. Hodges.

Peers to be assessed by themselves.

ORDERED, That it be referred to the Committee for Privileges, how the Peers of this Kingdom may be assessed by themselves, according to the ancient Privileges, for the finding of Horse and Arms; and not to be assessed by the Commissioners of the Militia in the Countries.

Declaration concerning Easter Term.

"The Lords and Commons assembled in Parliament do declare, That, by reason of the extraordinary and important Affairs of the Kingdom, there will be no Proceedings the next Easter Term in the ordinary Courts of Law or Equity at Westm. until Quinq' Paschæ being the 28th of this Instant May; and that there will be no Trials at the Bars in Westm. in Easter Term, of which the People of England and of Wales are to take Notice."

Marquis of Winton's Order to stay Waste on his Estate.

It is this Day ORDERED, by the Lords in Parliament assembled, That a Stay be made in the Delivery of the Possession to any Purchasers of the Manor of Chedle, and of the several Manors, Lands, and Woods, called The Brookes Lands, whereof John Lord Marquis of Winchester, or some in Trust for him, was or were seised; and that the Sheriffs of the several Counties wherein the same do lie do accordingly forbear to give any Possession thereof; and that no Waste or Spoil be committed upon any of the said Lands, or the Houses thereupon; and that no Timber be either felled or carried away, or other Waste committed, in the said Woods; and that the Rents and Revenues of such of the Premises as have not been purchased in Trust for the said Marquis, or the Lord St. John his Son, do rest in the Tenants Hands, until the further Pleasure of this House be signified.

Militia.

ORDERED, That the House of Commons be put in Mind of the Message from this House, concerning the Militia.
