Bill to prevent Frauds in Customs.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for preventing Frauds, and regulating Abuses, in His Majesty's Customs."

Messages from H. C. with Bills.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Vaughan and others; who presented a Bill, that had unanimously passed the House of Commons, intituled, "An Act for Confirmation of certain Letters Patents, made, and to be made, to the Right Noble Lord George Duke of Albemarle, of several Honours, Manors, and Hereditaments, granted to him by His Majesty;" wherein their Lordships Concurrence is desired.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Thomas Strikland and others; who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act for the more speedy and effectual bringing those Persons to Accompt, whose Accompts are excepted in the Act of Oblivion;" wherein their Lordships Concurrence is desired.

D. of Albemarle's Bill.

Bill for making Rivers navigable.

The Earl of Bollingbrooke reported, "That the Committee have considered of the Bill for making Rivers navigable, as fit to pass, with some Alterations and Amendments;" which, being read Twice, were Agreed to, and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the Alterations and Amendments.

Message to H. C. to return a Bill, because not signed by their Clerk.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Justinian Lewin and Sir Nathaniell Hobart:

To return them a Bill, brought up this Day, for the more speedy and effectual bringing those Persons to Accompt, whose Accompts are excepted in the Act of Oblivion, in regard the said Bill is not signed, according to the usual Manner, by their Clerk, with these Words, "Soit baillce aux Seignieurs."

Oxonbridge and Whitewick.

The Earl of Anglesey acquainted this House, "That Samuell Wightwick doth submit to the Protection of the Lord Vaughan, granted to Clement Oxonbridge, his menial Servant; and so is not in Contempt to their Lordships Order."

Bill concerning Sir James Enyons Estate.

The Earl of Derby reported, "That the Committee have considered the Bill concerning Sir James Enyons Estate; and have heard all Parties concerned, and have thought fit to make some Alterations and Amendments therein; which are offered to their Lordships Consideration;" and were read Once, and ordered to be read again on Monday Morning next.

Ly. Rosewell versus Briscoe.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Cause between Dorothy Dame Roswell Widow, and Mrs. Ellen Briscoe, shall be heard, at this Bar, by their Counsel on both Sides, on Thursday the Third of April next, at Nine of the Clock in the Morning, upon the whole Merits of the Cause, as it stands in the Bill depending before their Lordships, wherein both Parties are concerned; at which Time all Parties, with their Witnesses, are to be heard at the said Hearing.
