Bill for draining the Fens in Lindsey Level.
The Lord Bellasis reported the Bill concerning Lyndsey Levell; "That the Committee thinks it fit to pass, with some Alterations and Amendments, which they offer to the Consideration of the House."
The said Amendments and Alterations were read Twice; and, after some Debate, ordered to be re-committed to the same Committee; who are to meet this Afternoon.
Roman Catholics heard, concerning the Sanguinary Laws about Religion.
This Day being appointed to hear what Objections could be offered by the Romain Catholics, concerning the sanguinary Laws; Colonel Tuke, at the Bar, made a long Speech, and delivered Two Papers, one being a List of the Penal and Sanguinary Laws concerning Religion; another, Paper of their Desires.
They being withdrawn, the House commanded the said Papers to be read.
And then the Lord Arundell of Warder acquainted the House, "That he had another Paper from the Romain Catholics, to present to their Lordships Consideration."
Which was also read.
Then the Statute of 1° Eliz. Cap. 1°, was read; wherein is contained the Oath of Supremacy.
And the House fell into a long Debate thereof.
And it being late:
It is ORDERED, To resume this Debate some other Time.
Adjourn.
