Upon reading the Petition of the Lady Marquess of Winton; desiring, "That she may have the Fifteen Pounds per Week paid to her, for the Maintenance of herself and her Children, according to former Order:"

It is Ordered, To be sent down to the House of Commons, with special Recommendations, that the said Fifteen Pounds per Week may be paid.

Ramsey and Sir T. Walsingham.

Upon reading the Petition of Robert Ramsey:

It is Ordered, That Sir Thomas Walsingham shall see this Petition, and be heard, before any further Proceedings in this Business.

Tuckney's Ordinance, to be Margaret Professor.

The Ordinance for making Mr. Anthony Tuckney Margarett Professor of Divinity, in Cambridge, was read, and Agreed to; and ordered to be sent to the House of Commons for their Concurrence.

Sir P. Pindar's Patent, for making Allum.

Ordered, That Sir Paul Pindar shall send in to this House, peremptorily, To-morrow Morning, the Letters Patents for the sole Making and Sale of Allum.

Message from the H. C. with Ordinances.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Rob't Pye Knight, &c.; who brought up divers Particulars, wherein their Lordships Concurrence is desired:

1. An Ordinance for Payment to Thomas Lord Fairfax Ten Thousand Pounds, by the Treasurers of the Army. (Here enter it.)

Agreed to.

2. The Ordinance concerning Mr. Haack, with some Alterations, wherein they desire Concurrence.

The Answer returned was:

That this House agrees to all the Particulars, as they are now brought from the House of Commons.

Glo. Churches Ordinance.

The Ordinance for uniting certain Churches, in the County of Gloucester, was read Once.

Lady Drake's Order for 1500l.

The Order concerning the Lady Drake, was read the Second Time, and committed to the Committee of the whole House.

And accordingly the House was presently adjourned into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the same.

The House being resumed;

And the Question being put, "Whether to have any Addition added to this Ordinance, or not?"

It was Resolved in the Negative.

Then the said Order was read the Third Time, and Agreed to upon the Question. (Here enter it.)

Order for Payment of Ld. Pawlet's Fine, on his Composition.

Then was read the other Order, for paying the Remainder of the Lord Poulett's Fine into Goldsmithes Hall, the Second Time, and committed to these Lords following:

Any Three; to meet To-morrow Morning, and make Alterations according to the Sense of the House.

Baker & al. versus Edmonds, in Error.

Ordered, That the Cause between Walter Baker, & al. against Rob't Edmonds, upon a Writ of Error depending in this House, shall be argued, at this Bar, on the 11th April next, at Ten of the Clock; at which Time some of the Judges are to be present, and the Parties are then to attend by their Counsel.

Brown versus Eyre, D°.

(fn. 1) Ordered, That the Cause between Christopher Browne and Rich'd Eyre, upon a Writ of Error depending in this House, shall be argued, at this Bar, on the 11th April next, at Ten of the Clock; the Parties to attend, with Counsel.

Eyre versus Walker, D°.

Ordered, That the Cause between Rich'd Eyre and Rich'd Walker, upon a Writ of Error depending in this House, shall be argued 11th April next, at Ten; the Parties, by their Counsel, to attend.

Ordered, That the Cause between Rich'd Eyre and Rich'd Walker, upon a Writ of Error depending, be argued 11th April next, at Ten; Parties to attend.

Order for 10,000l. to Ld. Fairfax, in Lieu of an Annuity of 1000l.

"Be it Ordained, and it is Ordained, by the Lords and Commons in Parliament assembled, and by the Authority of the same, That Sir John Wollaston Knight, and the rest of the Treasurers at Wars, shall pay, by Warrant from the Committee of Lords and Commons for the Army, unto Thomas Lord Fairefax, General, or his Assignees, the Sum of Ten Thousand Pounds, out of the First Monies they are to receive from the Treasurers at Gouldsmiths Hall for the Use of the Army, after the Date hereof, and after Four Thousand Pounds by them first received; and that a Receipt under the Hand of the said Lord Fairefax, General, or his Assignees, together with the said Warrant of the said Committee, shall be the said Treasurers sufficient Discharge and Warrant in that Behalf; which said Ten Thousand Pounds, paid as aforesaid, is in Lieu of One Thousand Pounds per Annum, formerly appointed to be settled on him and his Heirs for ever."

Order for Haack to have the sole Vending of his Translation of the Annotations on the Dutch Bible.

"Whereas we are sufficiently assured, by the Testimony of many of the Divines of both Kingdoms sitting in the Assembly at Westminster, That the complete Translation of the large Annotations on the Dutch Bible, set forth 1637, will be of great Use and Benefit to these Realms, for the Promotion of Piety; and the Pains in finishing such a Work exceeding great; Be it Ordered and Ordained, by the Lords and Commons assembled in Parliament, for the Encouragement of the Undertaker thereof, Theodore Haack, That he, or whom he shall assign, shall have the Privilege of Printing and Venting the said Annotations for the Space of Fourteen Years (which Term shall begin from the Time of the First impression); so that none else, under what Pretence soever, shall be permitted to intermeddle in Printing the Whole or any Part thereof, upon the Pain of forfeiting a Thousand Pounds (fn. 2) to the said Theodore Haack, to be recovered by Action of Debt, Bill, Plaint, or Information, wherein no Essoign or Wager at Law to be admitted, and such other Penalties as shall hereafter be thought fit: Provided always, That the Approbation of these Persons herein named, (videlicet,) Mr. Charles Herle, Mr. Stephen Marshall, Dr. William Gouge, Dr. Cornelius Burges, Mr. Richard Vines, Dr. Thomas Hill, Mr. Thomas Young, Mr. Lazarus Seaman, Mr. Thomas Gattaker, Dr. Thomas Temple, Mr. Anthony Tuckney, Mr. Thomas Goodwin, Mr. Francis Taylor, Mr. Bridge, Mr. Edward Reynolds, Mr. John Durens, Mr. William Stronge, Mr. John De La Marsh, Mr. Samuell De La Place, or any Twelve of them, shall be first had, to the Translation made by the abovenamed Theadore Haack, before it be printed and published."

Order for 1500l. to Ly. Ellen Drake, out of L. Pawlet's Estate.

"Ordered, by the Lords and Commons in Parliament assembled, That the Sum of Fifteen Hundred Pounds be allowed and paid unto the Lady Ellen Drake, of Ashe, in the County of Devon, Widow, in full Satisfaction of her Losses and Damages sustained by Occasion of these late Troubles, and for her Affection to the Parliament; and that the said Sum of Fifteen Hundred Pounds be charged upon, and issue out of, the Rents reserved and detained in the Hands of the Tenants of John Lord Pawlett; and the Tenants of the said Lord Pawlett are hereby authorized and required respectively to pay the Rents in their Hands so detained, either by former Order of either House of Parliament, the Committee at Gouldsmiths Hall, or otherwise to the Committee of Lords and Commons for the Advance of Monies at Habberdashers Hall, who are hereby ordered, out of the same, to pay the said Sum of Fifteen Hundred Pounds to the said Lady Ellen Drake, or her Assigns, notwithstanding any former or other Order concerning the Rents of the said Lord Pawlett, from the Committee at Gouldsmiths Hall, or any other Committee: And the Acquittance or Acquittances of the Committee at Habberdash'rs Hall, or their Treasurer, or such as they shall appoint to receive the same, shall be a sufficient Warrant and Discharge, as well to the said (fn. 3) as all other therein concerned, for Allowance and Payment of the said Sum of Fifteen Hundred Pounds to the said Lady Ellen Drake as aforesaid."
