PREFACE
The present volume contains a calendar of the London Port Book for 1567/8, recording native and Hanse imports, together with a number of other documents illustrating the port and trade of London in the early years of Elizabeth I's reign. Nearly all of these are preserved in the Public Record Office, and the London Record Society is indebted to the Keeper of Public Records for permission to publish them.
Dr. Dietz has asked me to express his indebtedness to the University of Glasgow for leave of absence, and a travel and maintenance grant which enabled him to complete the volume.
