4. Receiver's Account 18 July 1482–18 July 1483

The roll is complete and is endorsed in a contemporary hand with the date of the account on the first sheet. The roll consists of eleven sheets, 30 cm wide and sewn end to end. The second sheet is 20 cm long, the third 18 cm, the fifth 32 cm, the sixth 20 cm, the tenth 17.5 cm and the eleventh 15.5 cm long. The remaining sheets are 42 cm long.

Black woollen cloth bought for the livery of the Dean's servants for the burial (fn. 8) of King Edward IV, £4 9s., as appears by another bill. Three gowns given to three farmers of Belchamp St. Paul and Wickham St. Paul, at 6s. 8d. each, totalling £1, as shown in Roger's book.

Wine
To Charles Vyntener, £19 6s. 8d. for two casks (£16) and three pipes (£1 6s. 8d.) of red wine and one hogshead (£2) of claret wine, and £1 15s. for 35 gallons sweet wine called Malmsey at 12d. per gallon.

Necessary Expenses

In the manors of Belchamp St. Paul (£8 9s. 5½d.), (fn. 10) Wickham St. Paul (£6 5s.), (fn. 11) and Ardleigh (£1), and to the mansion of the Dean (2s. 2d.), as shown in four separate bills.
