211. The receipts of the fruits of the parsonage of St Andrew Hubbard for 2 years gathered by Richard Bagat and William Acheley and begun by us at Christmas anno 1562 and ending then in anno 1564.

In primis received by the prick roll of the inhabitants of the parish for 2 whole years profit as appears by the prick roll, sum – £40 4s. 9d.
Item received for the yearly offering of the inhabitants and servants of the said parish for 2 years – £3 2s.
Item received more of divers that was married within the said parish – 6s. 4d.

This account afore, the day above written is perused by us Thomas Wylkyns, Richard Adams and James Crompton and others of the neighbours, that having received by the prick roll and all other appearing in this book, both for the parish and also for the parson's duties, also payments being deducted, so that clear, there is rest owing to the said Richard Bagat and William Acheley, to be answered by these churchwardens now following, [that is] to say John Wilson and Andrew Banbary which are now for these 2 years following, so that clear the said Richard Bagat and William Acheley must have the sum of – £3 18s. 8d.
I say – £3 18s. 8d.
The names of the rest having audited this account are Jarret Burton, Ellis Merchant and Thomas Cornelay &c.

The copy of the quittance made at Christ's Hospital for money gathered for the poor of this parish as follows, collectors for it William Cromton and Peter Collynes

There is gathered by William Cromton and Peter Collynes, collectors towards the relief and succour of the poor harboured in the spital, for 13 months begun the first Sunday in October 1563 and ended the last Sunday in September 1564 as by their account received. Sum of – £9 5d.

Paid to Thomas Jackson, treasurer of Christ's Hospital, towards the relief of the poor harboured in the said hospital within the time of this account – £3 15s. 10d.

Paid more to certain poor in this parish within the time of this account – £5 4s.

216. [f. 98v] 16th January 1564
Memorandum that in the time of these said churchwardens, Richard Bagott and William Acheley, upon conferment had with the parish, it was agreed that the annuities of Elizabeth Myles, [that is] to say widow of Michael Myles, should be bought, for that according to his will certain houses [were] given by him to this parish, the only right being common to her by that interest of annuity; so by agreement she is paid for the same, appearing by the writings for the sum of £20, which she is satisfied and paid. And all the writing and evidence of the same are delivered in the presence of us to these churchwardens, John Wylson and Andrew Banbery, as hereafter particularly appears.
First the copy of the last will and testament of Michael Myles, cobbler, copied by me Adams, under the hand of the Register of the Prerogative Court, in which he is a witness.
Item the deed bargained and sold by the said Elizabeth to the said churchwardens of her annuity of the date of the 25 of October last past anno 1564 and the sixth of Queen Elizabeth.
Item an obligation for performance of the same ?covenant.
Item a lease taken of the parish church of St Peter in Cornhill by Michael Myles cobbler and a deed [in which it] appears that one Erlington and another are mentioned that Myles had the lands of.
Item a lease of Henry Welle's house being let by the said widow, and [which is] but for the term of her life.
Item a lease of John Ward's house made also by her to him and [which is] for term of her life also.
In witness we the auditors afterwritten, so say Thomas Wylkyns, Richard Adams and the rest.

Received by the said collectors for 13 months before the first Sunday of September 1564 and ended the last Sunday of September 1565 as by their account. Received does appear – £8 12s. 8d.
Whereof paid to Master John Jackson of Christ's Hospital, towards the relief of the poor harboured there – £3 4s.
Paid to certain poor in the parish in the foresaid time appearing by account allowed – £4 16s.
To Master Peele for rest of the same collection – 12s. 8d.

[f. 100] This is the final account and reckoning of us John Wilson and Andrew Banbery, churchwardens of the parish church of St Andrew Hubbard in Little Eastcheap, from the feast of the birth of our Lord God anno domini 1564 until the feast of the birth of Our Lord God anno domini 1566, which is for 2 whole years as follows, viz.

Received of William Smithson, tailor, the sum of £3 in full payment of £5 which one Tasker gave to the poor – £3.

Lent the said money at your instance to John Weddell at 2 times, that is to say 15s. the 6th of June 1566 and 45s. the 10th of October in the same year – £3.

227. [f. 104] So remains the net rest of the account of us, the said Clement Farie and John Horner, in our hands of the money we have received appearing by our aforewritten account, this 7th day of February anno 1568, sum amounts all – £17 19s. 8d.

Whereof paid of the said [following sum is in arabics:] £17 19s. 8d. at this present, to the hands of the new churchwardens, [that is] to say Thomas Wylkyns and William Crompton, in ready money, sum – £5 2s. 6d.

So there remains in the hands of Thomas Wilkins and William Crompton for the rest of this account, being now audited the 9th day of January 1570 – £17 2d., which sum of seventeen pounds and two pence is now delivered into the hands of Richard Adams and Henry Wells, new churchwardens elected in the presence of us auditors to the same account ?appearing.
Memorandum there is more delivered to the new churchwardens a chest with evidence and other writings belonging to the church.

231. [f. 106] The copy of the acquittance of Thomas Hadlow and Robert Masonne, collectors for the poor of Christ's Hospital and the poor of our parish, collected by them of us the parishioners as appears
Received by the said collectors for 13 [sic] months begun the 17th day of September 1569 being the third Sunday and ended the 25th day being the fourth Sunday of the same month 1570, as by their account received may appear the sum of – £8 14s. 8d.
Whereof paid to John Jacksonne treasurer of Christ's Hospital towards the relief of the poor harboured there – 53s.
Paid to certain poor in the parish in the foresaid time appearing by account allowed, sum – £3 6s. 8d.
Paid to Master Pealle for the rest of the same collection – 35s.
