Barbados.
Read a letter from Lord George Germain, one of his Majesty's principal Secretaries of State, to the Board, signifying, that his Majesty had pleased to appoint Major General James Cuninghame to be Governor of the island of Barbados, in the room of the Honorable Edward Hay. deceased, and that it was his Majesty's pleasure that this Board do prepare the draughts of his Commission and instructions, in order to be laid before his Majesty for his approbation.

The draught of a Commission appointing James Cuninghame, esquire, to be Governor of the island of Barbados, having been prepared accordingly, was approved, and a representation to his Majesty thereupon was signed.
Ordered, that the draughts of general instructions for James Cuninghame, esquire, and also those relating to the regulation of trade, be taken into consideration at next meeting.
Leeward Islands.
Read a letter from William Mathew Burt, esquire, Governor
of the Leeward Islands, to the Board, dated Antigua, November
8th, 1779, acquainting their lordships, that he had appointed
Thomas Underwood, esquire, to be of the Council of Montserrat,
and transmitting, with his observations, the following publick
papers, vizt.,

Minutes of Council of the Island of Montserrat from the 8th
of October, 1778, to the 25th March, 1779: And from the

Minutes of Assembly of the Island of Montserrat from the

Ordered, that the Act beforementioned be sent to Mr. Jackson, for his opinion in point of law.
East Florida.
Jamaica.
fo. 15.
The draught of a representation to his Majesty, upon the instructions proposed to be given to Patrick Tonyn, esquire, Governor of East Florida, having been prepared pursuant to order of the 27th of last month, was approved, transcribed and signed. As were also two representations to his Majesty upon the two following Acts passed in the island of Jamaica, vizt. An Act, passed in December. 1769, for resting in Trustees the Estate of Ballard Beckford, esquire; And An Act, passed in December, 1775, to authorize George Brooks, esquire, to dispose of his Estate.
Their lordships read and considered twenty one Acts passed in the Island of Jamaica in the years 1774, 1775, 1776, 1777 and 1778, together with Mr. Jackson's report thereupon.
Trade.
Read the four following Orders of the Lords of the Privy
Council, vizt.,
Order, dated January 28th, 1780, referring the petition of
Messieurs Baugh, Ames and Company, praying leave to
export from Bristol to Jamaica, on board the ship Ann,
fifty barrels of gunpowder, for the use of the inhabitants.

Order, dated January 28th, 1780, referring the petition of
Messieurs Eade, Wilton and Allen, praying leave to
export to Jamaica, on board the ship Lady Juliana,
sundry military stores, for the use of private ships of war.
Order, dated February 2nd, 1779, referring the petition of
Isaac Bernal, junior, praying leave to export to Jamaica,
on board the ship Nancy, sundry military stores, for trade.
Order, dated February 2nd, 1780, referring the petition of
James Phynn, praying leave to export to Montreal, on
board the ship Eweretta, sundry military stores, for trade.
Their lordships, upon consideration of the foregoing petitions, were of opinion, the exportation prayed for should be allowed; and the draughts of four reports to the Lords of the Privy Council, having been prepared, were approved, transcribed and signed.

Barbados.
Their lordships took into consideration the instructions to be given to James Cuninghame, esquire, appointed Governor of the Island of Barbados, and having approved of several alterations and abridgements, it was ordered that a draught should be prepared.
Nova Scotia.
Read a letter from Sir Richard Hughes, Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia, to the Board, dated Halifax, November 19th, 1779, acknowledging the receipt of the Board's letter of the 1st July respecting certain Acts of that Province, etc.

Trade.
Read an Order of the Lords of the Privy Council, dated February 8th, 1780, referring the petition of Messieurs Ketland and Walker of Birmingham, praying leave to export from Liverpool to Belfast, on board the Belfast Packet, four hundred musquets and bayonets, for the use of Alexander Armstrong at Belfast.
Ordered, that the petitioners or their agents be desired to attend the Board, and the said agents having attended, and a report to the Council allowing the exportation being prepared, was signed.
Read an Order in Council of the 3rd of February, 1780, referring the petition of John Shoolbred, praying leave to export to East Florida, on board the ship Hero, sundry military stores, for the use of privateers.
Their lordships, being of opinion, that the exportation to East Florida should be allowed; the draught of a report to the Privy Council was prepared, approved, transcribed and signed.

Nova Scotia, Georgia, East Florida, West Florida, St. John's, Senegambia, Plantations General.
Their lordships took into their consideration the estimates of such sums as will be necessary for the support of the Civil Establishment of Nova Scotia, Georgia, East Florida, West Florida, the Island of St. John in North America, and the Province of Senegambia in Africa; and also for continuing the services of general Surveys of his Majesty's dominions in North America for the year 1780.

Read a letter from Mr. Robert White to the Board, dated February 11th, 1780, acquainting their lordships, that as Mr. Hodgson has printed five hundred copies of his defence to the charges exhibited against him by the inhabitants of the Mosquito Shore, he means to print off a like number of the Colony's answer, printed copies of which, with the answers, shall be presented to their lordships.

John Strettell, praying leave to export to Canada, on
board the ship Beaver, certain military stores, for the
Indian trade.

Their lordships, upon consideration of the foregoing petitions, were of opinion, that the exportation therein prayed for should be allowed; and the draughts of six reports to the Lords of the Privy Council thereupon, having been prepared, were approved, transcribed and signed.
Their lordships, having resumed the consideration of the estimates of the Civil Establishment of the several Colonies for the present year, they read the following paper, vizt.,
Plantations General.
Memorial of Joseph Frederick W. Des Barres, esquire, stating, that he has finished the work he has been employed in under their lordships' direction, intituled the Atlantic Neptune; and praying, that the thirty two remaining plates may be provided for as heretofore in the estimates for the present year to be laid before Parliament.

Their lordships, having taken into their further consideration the estimates of such sums as will be necessary for supporting the Civil Establishments of Nova Scotia, Georgia, East Florida, West Florida, and the island of St. John's in North America; and also for continuing the service of the general Surveys of his Majesty's Dominions in North America for the year 1780, the said estimates were agreed to and ordered to be prepared.

Barbados.
Governor Cuninghame attended before his departure to take his leave and receive his instructions. He was told there were several alterations, amendments and abridgements in them; that if, upon perusal of them, he found any matter or thing that needed further explanation, the Board would readily attend to his application and explain them to him.
Nova Scotia,

Georgia, East Florida, West Florida, St. John's, Plantations General.
The estimates of such sums as will be necessary for the support of the Civil Establishment of Nova Scotia, Georgia, East Florida, West Florida, and the Island of St. John's in North America, and for continuing the service of general Surveys of his Majesty's Dominions in North America for the year 1780, having been prepared pursuant to order, Mr. Greville was desired to present them to the House of Commons.
