PREFACE
The object of publishing these Journals independently of the Calendar of State Papers Colonial has been explained in the first volume issued (1704–9). The Journal is now carried down to December 1775. This volume contains a list of Commissioners and Commissions for the period under review, together with a list of Governors of the various plantations. It has been printed under the supervision of Mr. K. H. Ledward, an Assistant Keeper of the Records, who has also compiled the Index.
