ADDENDA TO VOLUME IV.

685. WILLIAM DE LULLEWORTH or DE LULLESWORTH.
Writ [to the sheriff of Dorset to enquire as to the lands and heir of the said William, and who has been in possession of his lands since his death and] received [the issues]. Fragment.
DORSET. Inq. … after St. Matthew, 30 Edward I.
Lulleworth. Extent of the manor.
William de Lulleworth died on the eve of St. Denis, 5 Edward I. Reynold, his son and heir, was 10 years of age on the eve of Palm Sunday next following, and Walter de Wylton had wardship and marriage of him by the grant of Hugh de Roches, kinsman and heir of Roger, son and heir (sic), who held of the king in chief. Walter de Wylton held the manor for eleven years by way of custody, and Hawis, late the wife of William de Lulleworth, was dowered by Hugh de Roches and held her dower until the feast of St. Katharine, 29 Edward I. The aforesaid Reynold, after he had come of age, held the manor for twelve years. John de Novo Burgo has held it of his gift for a year.…

686. HENRY DE MONTE FORTI.
SOMERSET. Assignment of dower to Amice, late the wife of Henry de Monte Forti, who held of the heir of John Giffard of Brumesfeld, a minor in the king’s wardship, according to the king’s writ (missing) of 1 August, 33 Edward I.
Wodebergh. A third part of the manor (extent given).

687. ROBERT DE LA BERWE.
GLOUCESTER. Assignment of dower to Joan, late the wife of Robert de la Berwe, who held of the heir of William de Berkeleye, a minor in the king’s wardship, made at la Berwe in the town of Erlingham, 25 January, 33 Edward I.
Erlingham. A house and the garden and a plot of ground (placea) by the gate on the south side of the hall, to which to move the same house, a third part of the garden which stretches eastward from the hall, viz. the south part by the garden which Maud, late the wife of John de la Berwe, holds in dower, arable, meadow and 1/2a. 1r. 5p. wood of oak saplings (de bletronibus quercuum), and rents receivable from Robert Cordy, Adam atte Grene and Ellis Pouk amounting to 7s. 8 1/2d.
