PREFACE.

The present volume is a further instalment of a Calendar of certain documents selected from the class formerly known as Escheats, or Inquisitions post mortem. It covers the period from the 10th to the 20th year of the reign of Edward III. The text has been prepared by Mr. J. E. E. S. Sharp, I.S.O., late an Assistant Record Keeper, and Mr. E. G. Atkinson, his successor. The index has been prepared by Mr. J. J. O'Reilly, M.A., of this Department.
