YORK. Inq. taken at Gysburgh, Thursday after the Annunciation, 21 Richard II.
He died seised in his demesne as of fee, to him and the heirs of his body, of the under-mentioned manor of Castelleventon by the gift of Robert Conyers and Thomas de Boynton, knights, and John Conyers, brother of the said Robert.
He and Christina his wife, who is still living, held jointly to them and the heirs of their bodies the under-mentioned manor of Tampton and messuages etc. in Kyldale and Neuby by gift of the said Robert, Thomas and John.
Castelleventon. The manor, held of the king in chief by homage and fealty and the service of finding a man with a horse, armed with ‘acton, palet’, lance, and gloves of ‘plates’, in time of war in Scotland for 40 days.
Tampton. The manor, whereof a third part is held of Thomas de Holand, duke of Surrey, and the other two-thirds of Philip lord Darcy, service unknown.
Kyldale. 8 messuages, 5 tofts, 7 bovates of land and 8a. land, held of John Percy of Kyldale, service unknown.
Neuby. 2 bovates of land, held of William Moubray of Neuby, and a messuage and 3 bovates of land, held of Philip lord Darcy, service unknown.
He died on the feast of St Katharine last, William son of the said William and Christina, aged a quarter of a year and more is his heir.

NORTHANTS. Inq. taken at Rothewell, Saturday after SS Simon and Jude, 21 Richard II.
On the day of his outlawry for the death of John Staverton at the suit of Edward III he held the under-mentioned messuage to him and the heirs of his body, which is in the king’s hand by reason of his outlawry.
Rothewell. A messuage, held of the earl of Stafford in burgage by service of suit of court twice yearly.
He died on the feast of St Augustine, 15 Richard II. Juliana wife of John Trickelove, aged 26 years and more, is his daughter and heir.

He held the under-mentioned lordship and lands in his demesne as of fee.
Walpanne in the Isle of Wight. The lordship, held of the lord of Caresbrok in chief as of the castle of Caresbrok by service of a knight’s fee.
Le Wode and Chyllyngwode in the said Isle. Lands, tenements and wood so called, held of the said lord as of the said castle by service of an eighth part and a thirteenth part of a knight’s fee.
La Hethenstret in the said Isle. Two small crofts of land and heath, tenure not known.

Charles and Westhagynton. The manors, with the advowson of the church of Charles, held of Edward Courtenay, earl of Devon, by knight’s service. Long before his death by his writing indented he granted the manor of Westhagynton to Thomas Kyngeslond for life at a yearly rent of 8l. 6s. 8d.
Westbokelond. The manor, with the advowson of the church, held of John Byry, William Wilacre(?) and others, lords of the manor of Asshe Raaf, by knight’s service.
Walston. A messuage, a carucate of land and 40a. wood, held of Isabel Damarle by knight’s service.
Courtesknolle. A moiety of the manor, held of John Berye and Clarice his wife as of the right of Clarice by knight’s service.

OXFORD. Inq. taken at Chepyngnorton, Friday after Trinity, 21 Richard II.
He held the under-mentioned manor in his demesne as of fee jointly with Philippa his wife and the under-mentioned messuage, mill etc. in his demesne as of fee.
Chepyngnorton. The manor (extent given), held of the king in chief by service of a knight’s fee. The extent includes pastures called Prenesdon, Boysshrop, Cleve and Eleacre and tolls and stallage.
Chepyngnorton. A messuage, a mill and 5a. land, held of the king in chief by homage and service of a twentieth part of a knight’s fee.
He died on the morrow of Michaelmas, 17 Richard II. Richard, aged 26 years at the time of Richard the father’s death, was his son and heir. He died on Monday after the Nativity of St John the Baptist, 19 Richard II. Elizabeth, aged 24 years at the time of the death of Richard the son, Phillippa, then aged 22 years, Alice, then aged 9 years and Joan, then aged 4 years, are sisters and heirs of Richard the son.
Philippa wife of the said Richard has taken the issues of the premises ever since his death.

LINCOLN. Inq. taken at Glamford Brigge, Monday after Ascension Day, 21 Richard II.
She held the under-mentioned messuages, lands and rent for life, the reversion belonging to the right heirs of the said Richard.
Glentworth. A messuage, a toft, 5 bovates of land, 18s. 1d. and 1 lb. cummin rent, held of the king in chief by great serjeanty, to wit, by service of 15s. rent yearly to the king by the hands of the sheriff.
She died on 8 April last. John Storton, son of Margaret, sister of the said Richard, aged 33 years and more, is the said Richard’s heir. Maud’s heir is unknown.

He was seised in his demesne as of fee of the under-mentioned manor of Mudele and castle and lordship of Knokyn jointly with Maud his wife, who is still living, by the gift of Philip de la Lee, parson of the church of Mudele, Roger de Hampton, vicar of the church of Ellesmere, and Richard Ednevet, parson of the church of Llannemynagh, to them and the heirs of their bodies.
He was seised in his demesne as of fee of the under-mentioned manors of Herdewyk and Marton jointly with Maud his wife by the gift of Richard de Whithyford, chaplain, to them and the heirs of John.
Long before his death he enfeoffed Ebulo Lestraunge, parson of the church of Gresseford, Richard Ednevet, clerk, John Kynaston and William Greve of the manor of Nessestraunge and the castle and hundred of Ellesmere with the hamlets of Colmere and Hampton.

He held the under-mentioned manors for life by the grant of Thomas de Veer, late earl of Oxford, with the king’s licence, the reversion belonging to Aubrey de Veer, now earl of Oxford, as brother and heir of the said Thomas, who died without heir of his body.
Langley and Bradley. The manors, held of the king, services unknown.
He died on 25 May last. William, aged 21 years and more, is his son and heir.

CORNWALL. Inq. taken at Stratton, Tuesday after St Edward the Bishop, 22 Richard II.
He was seised in his demesne as of fee of the under-mentioned manor and gave it by his charter to Richard Sergeaux, knight, William Freludek, late vicar of the church of Stratton, and William Penwonan, chaplain, to hold for the life of Joan Aysshe, now deceased, and Joan, wife of the said Nicholas, at a rent of 6d. yearly, and all the tenants attorned to them except Nicholas Bromford, who held a yard in Stratton called Crabbehaye by a rent of 1d. yearly. The said Richard, William and William granted all their estate in the manor to the said Joan and Joan and all the tenants attorned to them except the said Nicholas Bromford, so that the said Nicholas Waumford died seised of 7d. rent and the reversion of the manor.
Efforde. The manor, held of the king of the castle of Launceston as of the duchy of Cornwall, except a messuage and a carucate of land in Wasteprayshele, held of John Fareweye and Agnes his wife as of the right of Agnes of the manor of Penalym by knight’s service.
He died on Tuesday before Whitsunday, 21 Richard II. Joan, wife of John Kaynes of Wynkelegh, daughter of the said Nicholas, aged 40 years and more, and John Duraunt, son of John, son of John, son of Eleanor, daughter of the said Nicholas, aged 7 years and more, are his heirs.

They died in the king’s wardship and held the under-mentioned fraction of a manor.
Brytyngherst. Two-thirds of a third part of the manor. The said manor is held of the king by knight’s service, to wit, rendering to the ward of the castle of Dovorr 10s. every 3[2] weeks, 12d. yearly to lord de Say to his manor of Westgrenewych and 2s. 8d. yearly to the manor of Dovedale which William Gresswyk holds.
Joan died on 6 November, 21 Richard II and Alice on the following day. Margaret daughter of John del Pantrie, deceased, aged 8 years and more, is their heir.

She died on 12 February last. Margaret daughter of John del Pantrie, aged 8 years and more, is heir of the said Thomas.

1110 ROBERT SON OF JOHN ATTE CHIRCHE
Writ, to take proof of his age in the presence of Adam atte Wode, in whose wardship he is by the king’s grant. 3 October, 21 Richard II.
ESSEX. Proof of age (indented) made at Hatfeld Regis, Wednesday after St Leonard, 21 Richard II.
He was 23 years of age on the feast of St Agatha last, having been born and baptized at Eppyng on that day in 49 Edward III.
William Forde and Thomas Taillour, both aged 50 years and more, know this because on that day they saw Robert Huberd and Ralph Smyth of Eppyng and Meliora now the wife of Thomas de Eton lift the said Robert atte Chirche from the font.
Reynold Smyth and John Campyon, both aged 49 years and more, know this because they were in the church of Eppyng on that day and saw John Northwych, then vicar, baptize the said Robert and wrap him in a linen cloth called ’crisme’ marked at the head with a cross of red and gold silk.
