He held the under-mentioned manor of Stretton, together with the manor of Hellewell, co. Lincoln, in fee tail, to him and the heirs male of his body, by gift of Edward II. He died without heir male of his body, so that the manors ought to revert to the king and his heirs.
Stretton. The manor (extent given), held, together with the manor of Hellewell, co. Lincoln, of the king in chief, as of the honor of Aumale, by service of a pair of gilt spurs to be paid yearly at the Exchequer at Michaelmas. The extent includes a garden called ‘Park,’ 7 a. meadow in a place called ‘le Stokkyn,’ 7 1/2 a. meadow in ‘le Mylnetymbremede,’ and 160 a. wood in a wood called ‘Esthawe.’
He died on 8 October, 4 Richard II. Margaret wife of Robert de Swylyngton, knight, aged 30 years and more, and Thomasina, aged 7 years and more, are his daughters and heirs.

He held the under-mentioned manor of Hellewell, together with the manor of Stretton, co. Rutland, to him and the heirs male of his body, by gift and feoffment of Edward II made by charter to Roger Beler, knight, his father, and the heirs male of his body.
He held the under-mentioned croft in Surflete in fee, to him and his heirs.
He held the under-mentioned manor of Weston in Holand as of the right of Mary, his wife.
Hellewell. The manor (extent given), held as above (manor of Stretton). The extent includes crofts called ‘le Estzard’ and ‘le Westzard,’ and a pasture called ‘le Busket.’
Surflete. A croft, held of the prior of Spaldyng, service not known.
Weston in Holand. The manor, held of the same prior by service of 27s. yearly.

He held the under-mentioned manor of Boney and lands etc. in Bradmer in his demesne as of fee.
He and Margaret his first wife formerly held jointly the under-mentioned manors of Wydmerpole and Gonalston and advowson of Wydmerpole, to them and the heirs of their bodies, by grant of Thomas de la Forth and Robert de Cauland by a fine levied in the king’s court. The said Margaret died 16 years and more ago. The under-mentioned Margaret wife of Robert de Swillyngton, knight, is daughter and sole heir of the bodies of the said Roger and Margaret; and 7 years and more ago Roger gave to her and her said husband and her issue all his right in the said manors etc., at a yearly rent of 200 marks to be paid to him during his lifetime for those manors and the manors of Wynfeld and Tybschelf, co. Derby, provided that after his death the said rent should be paid no longer.
Boney. The manor (extent given, including a plot of meadow called ‘Ermytesmedowe’), held of the king in chief, as of the crown, by service of two-thirds of a knight’s fee.
Bradmer. Certain lands etc., tenure not known, which John Campion holds at the lord’s will at a rent of 40s. yearly.
Wydmerpole and Gonalston. The manors, with the advowson of the church of Wydmerpole, held of the king, as of the honor of Peverel, each by service of a moiety of a knight’s fee.
Date of death as above. Margaret wife of Robert de Swillyngton, knight, aged 30 years and more, his daughter by Margaret his first wife, daughter of Richard de la River, the elder, knight, and Thomasina, aged 7 years at the feast of St. George last, his daughter by Katharine his third wife, are his heirs.

He held the under-mentioned manor of Cruch in his demesne as of fee.
He and Margaret his first wife formerly held the under-mentioned manors of Wynfeld and Tybschelf as above (last inquisition), mutatis mutandis; and 7 years ago he disposed of them as above (ibid.). Margaret wife of Robert de Swillyngton, knight, is heir to both manors.
Cruch. The manor (extent given, including a stone-quarry), held of the king in chief, as of the crown, by service of a knight’s fee.
The following fees were held of the said Roger, as of the said manor of Cruch.

Iball. Half a knight’s fee, held by the heirs of Thomas de Bircheovere.
Wynfeld. The manor, held of John Pavely, knight, for a moiety of a knight’s fee.
Tybschelf. The manor, held of the king, as of the honor of Peverel, by service of a moiety of a knight’s fee.

He held the under-mentioned rent in Sewsterne in fee tail, to him and his heirs male.
He held the under-mentioned manor of Frythby in right of Mary, his wife. It pertains to the said Mary for life, and after her death to Leisant’ de Aven and his heirs.
He held the remaining under-mentioned manors, messuages, hundred, lands and rents in his demesne as of fee.
Kirkeby on Wreek. The manor with two gardens (extent given), together with the advowson of the priory of the same town of Kirkeby, held of divers lords by divers services, to wit, of the master of Burton Lazars by service of 7s. yearly, of the priory of Monks Kirkeby by service of 113s. 4d. yearly, of the abbot of La Dale by service of 3s. yearly, of the prior of Kirkeby Belers by service of 5s. 2 3/4d. yearly, of the abbot of Leicester by service of 7s. 2 1/2d. yearly, of the prior of Launde (Landa) by service of 8s. yearly, and of the lord de Segrave by service of 18s. yearly. To the hundred of Framlond for sheriff’s aid 2s. 2d. Divers tenants in Kirkeby held of the said Roger in demesne as of fee by service of half a knight’s fee.
Grymston. A messuage and a carucate of land, held of the castle of Rokyngham by service of 1 1/2d. yearly.
Somerdby. The manor, and 6 virgates of arable and 13s. 4d. rent in the town, held of William Maureward, service not known.
Framlond. The hundred, held by gift and grant of Edward II, at a fee-farm rent of 12l. 18s. 5 1/2d. yearly at the Exchequer in aid of the sheriff’s farm.
Estwell. 27s. rent charge from a free tenant.
Gouteby. 12s. rent, held of Sir Thomas Maureward, service not known.
Thursyngton. 6l. 13s. 4d. rent service, the town being held of him by service of that rent and one knight’s fee. He holds the said rent and fee of Walter de Wappyngburgh, service not known.
Leicester. 30s. rent from certain burgesses, who hold of the duke of Lancaster.
Thorp Sechevile. A messuage and 4 virgates of land, held of the lady de Segrave, services not known.
Scaldford. 3s. 4d. rent from divers tenants, who hold of him lands etc. in the said town by service of the said rent and a quarter of a knight’s fee. It is held of the prior of the hospital of St. John of Jerusalem in England by fealty.
Sewsterne and Theddyngworth. 10s. rent in each of the said towns, held of the king in chief. The said rent is parcel of the manor of Helwell, co. Lincoln, and ought now to revert to the king and his heirs.
Frythby. The manor, held of the heirs of the lord le Dispenser.
