West Lydeford. The manor (extent given), held of the earl of Gloucester by service of one knight's fee and suit to the earl's court of Theukesbur', Bristoll, Fayreford or Thornbur'. The extent includes two-thirds of a water-mill and a statement (too much mutilated to be legible) about the advowson of the church.

[WILTS]. Inq. made on Friday after SS. Tiburcius and Valerian, [10 Edward I].
[Harden]. (fn. 1) A messuage with garden, 60a. arable, 2a. meadow, 12s. 9d. rent of free tenants, 1 1/2 virgates of land in villeinage (each containing 20a.) with 3 messuages, and 2 1/2a. wood within the forest and within the regard, held of the king in chief by service of providing a man with a horse, a hauberk, a lance and an iron cap, when the king's army is summoned for Wales. There is a free chapel there.
