The premises in Wymondham and Stapulford are parcels of the manor of Edmerthorp. Barkeston. A carucate of land, held of the lord le Roos. John Tybetot, knight, father of Robert, granted the premises for 14 years to William Dencourt, late lord of Graneby, and Thomas de Hameldene, parson of the church of Potterehanworth; and afterwards by an indenture dated at Graneby, Wednesday after St. Dunstan, 22 Edward III, granted the reversion thereof to the said Robert and Margaret his wife and the heirs of their bodies at a yearly rent of a rose at Midsummer. All the tenants of the manor attorned to William and Thomas, who on the grant of the reversion attorned to Robert and Margaret, and afterwards surrendered the premises to them within the said term of 14 years. About a year ago he charged the said manor with a yearly rent of 100s. in favour of Robert de Morton for life. The extent includes 85a. land and 4 1/2a. meadow held for life by William Gibson and John his brother at a yearly rent of 45s., and pasture scalled ‘les Holmes,’ ‘Bouryherd,’ ‘Leghlandes,’ ‘Olyverenges’ and ‘Westhavercroft.’
Haunthwayt. The manor, held of John Fiz William by homage and fealty and service of rendering 8s. 1d. yearly. About 3 years ago he granted the manor by charter to the said John for life at a yearly rent of 5 marks. Wyghton. The manor, held of the king in chief by knight’s service. John Tibtot, Robert’s father, granted the said manor, by the king’s charter of licence dated 20 March, 23 Edward III, to John de Sandale, parson of the church of Arkessay, and John de Kyneton, parson of the church of Radclyf, who re-enfeoffed him of the reversion thereof for life, with remainder to the said Robert and Margaret his wife and the heirs of their bodies, and with remainder over to the right heirs of Robert. The said William still survives and holds the manor. While the said Robert held the manor in fee simple he granted by his writing dated at Borwell, co. Cambridge, on the feast of the Annunciation, 42 Edward III, a yearly rent of 20 marks therefrom to Elizabeth late the wife of John Tybetot, knight, for life.
