The said day, Johne Jonstoune gave in ane compt of the haill sowmes of money he receavit fra Robert Mak for the vse of the manufactorie, extending to three thowsand three hundrethe three scoir pundis; as also of his debursings therof from the 13 of Apryle last by past to this day, quhilk was all red and allowit and is as fallowes:—

The said day, Alexander Maxwell maid compt of his intromissioun with the haill moneys intrusted to his charge for collecting the old and late mentinance, outreik, excyse money, and vtheris, contenit therintill, quhairof charge and discharge fallowis, and first the chairge:—

In the first, he chairges himself with the sowme fallowing receaved be him of excyse money for merchand guidis fra the particular persounes conteaneit in the roll, 776 li.
Item, receavit of excyse money since syne fra Robert Allane, 36 li.
Item, of old mentinance, dew be the townesmen, conteinit in the first paper, 436 li.
Item, of the same mentinance, in the second paper, 211 li. 12s. 2d.
In the quhilk last paper thair is set downe of non payments of the old mentinance that he hes receavit sen syne in ane new paper, 37 li. 5s. 10d.
Item, he charges himself with the recept of mentenance dew be outtintownsmen preceiding the first of June 1649, be his first paper, 1067 li. 6s.
Item, by his second paper, of that same mentinance, 1220 li. 6s.

Memorandum. In this second paper is conteanit the not payments of that mentinance preceiding Witsounday 1649, not being as yet compted for.
