Gardiner instal. 1 Aug. but claimed was prevented by Bp. Parkhurst from enjoying fruits (Letter Book of John Parkhurst nos. 161, 194, 234); he became dean of Norwich in Nov. Agreement reached between Roberts and Gardiner Sept. 1574 (ibid. nos. 218, 234, 236, 239).
