Cosneburg claimed preb. by virtue of prov. but unable to obtain possession, appealed to bp. of Exeter 9 May 1335 since preb. occupied by Taunton (Exeter, Reg. Grandisson 11 f. 188b). Preb. sequestrated 29 May 1336 (ibid. f. 199b). Sentence relaxed 16 Nov. and Cosneburg stated to be lawful claimant (ibid. f. 204b). Royal gr. to Berkeley revoked 1 Oct. 1340 (CPR. 1340-1343 p. 65). Estate of de Sancto Paulo ratif. as preb. s.d. (ibid.). Cosneburg still claiming preb. but exch.
