This preb. was divided into three portions, each valued at fifty marks, in May 1295 (Reg. Romeyn 11 25). Lacy, Bar-le-Duc and Saluzzo coll. to portions of preb. 31 May (ibid.). (fn. 1) Saluzzo res. before 15 Aug. when Sampson coll. to his portion, called preb. of Landeford (ibid. p. 27). The division of the preb. not recognized by k., gr. whole preb. to Drokensford during vac. of abpc. after d. of abp. Romeyn, March 1296-June 1297 (CCR. 1296-1302 p. 223). Colonna had been prov. c. 1296 (ibid.), unable to obtain possession. K. protested to pope 3 June 1298 about intrusion on his right (ibid.). Papal mand. to abp. of Canterbury 21 May 1298, ordering res. of Drokensford (Reg. R. Winchelsey, ed. R. Graham (Canterbury and York Soc., li, lii) 1 329, 11 553). Royal prohibn. to Colonna forbidding him to prosecute claims to preb., 18 March 1299 (CCR. 1296-1302 p. 301). Protest from k. to pope in May (ibid. p. 309), Drokensford remained in possession of preb. until 1309 when bp. of Bath and Wells.
