Orsini held preb. in York 1 Apr. 1280 (Reg. Wickwane p. 180), (fn. 1) occ. as preb. of South Cave 21 Sept. 1305 (CPR. 1301-1307 p. 377). Royal gr. to Melton 2 June 1309 (CPR. 1307-1313 p. 176), prohibns. against those opposing claims (ibid.). Comm. by abp. to hear case, 30 July (Reg. Greenfield 133). Proceedings stopped by abp. on receipt of papal mand. 17 Sept. (ibid. p. 35). Melton appears to have abandoned claims probably because preb. of Driffield 1310. Orsini occ. as preb. 23 May 1313 (CPR. 1307-1313 p. 589). Royal gr. to Ayremynne 16 Oct. 1316 (CPR. 1313-1317 p. 555), does not appear to have gained possession.
