Notes

The prebends have been given the names by which they are described in the current Sarum Diocesan Handbook. Medieval prebends which have been dissolved are called by the present place-name.

Dr. A. B. Emden's Biographical Register of the University of Oxford to 1500 has been followed for degrees. But some later medieval bishops' registers and chapter act books give the title of magister to B.A.s. This anomalous title appears in this edition of the Fasti, when there is manuscript authority for it.
