Thomas Arundel c. 1370.

John Sleford 1369-1370.

(For dispute, 1366-70, see CPR. 1370-1374 p. 19). Prov. made to Ace, and coll. to Charlton 1366/7 (ibid. pp. 19, 20). Charlton's estate ratif. 17 Aug. 1367 (CPR. 1367-1370 p. 3). While suit at Curia pending, Charlton arranged for a royal gr. 4 Dec. 1367 to Bedwardine (ibid. p. 42), whilst he continued to enjoy the revenues. Royal lic. to Ace 28 Jan. 1368 to plead in person at Curia (ibid. p. 127). On his d. there, the pope surrogated Arundel into his rights.

Writ of Quare impedit served on Charlton for keeping revenues, and Bedwardine instal., but he res. secretly, sede vacante, and arranged for a royal gr. 15 July 1369 to Sleford (CPR. 1367-1370 p. 278), whilst he continued to enjoy the revenues. 23 Nov. 1370, k. revoked all gr. concerning the preb. and gave Arundel permission to plead at Curia (CPR. 1370-1374 p. 19).

M. John de Bedwardine or Smythes (again) ?-1377.

M. Nicholas de Draiton Lic.C.L. 1377-1379.

Bedwardine's estate ratif. 30 Aug. 1374 (CPR. 1374-1377 p. 1). Draiton claimed it by prov., and after he had proved in the royal cts. that Bedwardine could have no right by the k. to the preb., was granted permission to plead at Curia, 20 Feb. 1377 (ibid. p. 432). Draiton d. by 9 March 1379 (CPP. 1 547).

John de Waltham junior ?-1383.
