Footnotes

  • 1. The revenue of the ch. of Meifod, Montgom., provided the endowment of the preb. of Meifod. It therefore seems probable that the rectors of this ch. held the preb. of Meifod in St Asaph cath.
  • 2. This second gr. of the preb. to Bochenhull suggests that he was probably having difficulty in obtaining possession because of a rival claimant-Pregeet.
  • 3. The estate of John Carp as preb. of Llannefydd and 'parson' of Meifod was ratif. 28 Oct. 1399 (CPR. 1399-1401 p. 25). He was probably vicar of Meifod, Langley's deputy and not a rival claimant for preb. of Meifod.
