M. Gervase of Howbridge (fn. 1)

Apparently can. by 1212 (see Richardson, Guala pp. 252-3), but cannot have succeeded to preb. of Hoxton until c. 1214, so presum. held unident. preb. from 1212 to c. 1214 (cf. above, p. 56).

M. Henry de Cornhill

For the possibility that either he or Richard Talbot held unident. preb. before or after preb. of Finsbury, c. 1253-4, see above p. 50.

Henry de Saracenis

Prob. transf. from preb. of Brownswood to unident. preb. by 12 June 1315 (cf. above p. 31).

Hugh de Mareni

First occ. as can. 1150/1 (B.M., Harley MS. 6956 fo. 84v, from missing Liber F fo. 35). Archdcn. of London from before c. 1154, to March 1157 or later. M. Ralph de Diceto (fn. 3)

Possibly to be identified with M. Ralph, can., who occ. [1138 × Apr. 1142] (A/71/ 1801, name omitted from cal. in Rep. p. 50b; WD 4 fo. 54/58v, name omitted from cal. in Rep. p. 68a) (cf. below p. 94). (fn. 4) Archdcn. of Middlesex from before c. June 1153, to after Jan. 1180. Presum. trans. from unident. preb. to preb. of Totenhall on becoming dean between Jan. 1180 and Jan. 1181 (cf. above pp. 5-6, 15-16, 79).

M. Richard Talbot

Possibly transf. from preb. of Islington to unident. preb. before d. in Sept. 1294 (cf. above p. 59).

Presum. held an unident. preb. as precentor [June 1225 × May 1226], before d. or res. of his predecessor in preb. of Rugmere, after 1231 (cf. above p. 75).

M. William de Sancte Marie Ecclesia III

Said to have transf. to preb. of Caddington Minor from another preb., after Dec. 1238 (cf. above p. 35). Prob. to be identified with William de Sancte Marie Ecclesia who occ. as can. 26 Apr. 1231 (Reg. Greg. IX no. 630), [Nov. 1229 × Jan. 1232] (A/70/1773), (fn. 7) and 2 Apr. 1234 (Gibbs no. 182).
