Sankey Brook Navigation Petition, reported.

MR. Greene reported from the Committee on the Petition of several Proprietors of Shares in the Sankey Brook Navigation, in the county palatine of Lancaster; That the Standing Orders relative to Navigation Bills had been complied with; and that they had examined the matter of the Petition; and the Report was brought up, and read.

Ordered, That leave be given to bring in a Bill to consolidate and amend the Acts relating to the Sankey Brook Navigation, in the County of Lancaster, and to make a Navigable Canal from the said Navigation at Fidler's Ferry, to communicate with the River Mersey, at Widness Wharf, near West Bank, in the Township of Widness, in the said County: And that Mr. Greene and Lord Stanley do prepare, and bring it in.

St. Helen's and Runcorn Gap Railway Petition, reported.

Mr. Greene reported from the Committee on the Petition of several Owners and Occupiers of estates and Inhabitants of the several parishes, townships, hamlets or places thereinafter mentioned; and of the town of Northwich, in the county palatine of Chester; That the Standing Orders relative to Bills for making Railways or Tramroads, and also to Bills for making Docks, had been complied with; but it appeared to the Committee, that to the duplicate section deposited in the Private Bill Office there had been appended an amended section of part of the intended main line of Railway; and also that a paper, purporting to be an appendix to the book of reference, had been delivered in to the Private Bill Office, showing such errors as have been discovered therein, and the corrections thereof, since depositing the same with the clerk of the peace; and that they had examined the matter of the Petition; and the Report was brought up, and read.

Ordered, That the Report be referred to the Select Committee on Standing Orders.

Wendover Road Petition.

A Petition of several Trustees for executing an Act for more effectually repairing and improving the Road from Wendover to the town of Buckingham, was presented, and read; setting forth, That the Money borrowed on the credit of the Tolls cannot be repaid, nor the said Road properly maintained and improved, unless the term of the said Act be continued, some of the powers and provisions thereof altered and amended, and the Tolls increased; and praying, That leave may be given to bring in a Bill for the same.

Ordered, That leave be given to bring in a Bill accordingly: And that Sir Thomas Fremantle and the Marquis of Chandos do prepare, and bring it in.

Congleton and Buxton Road Petition.

A Petition of several Trustees for executing the Acts for amending, widening and keeping in repair the Road leading from Congleton to Colley Bridge, and from the said Bridge to Smithy Green, in the parish of Prestbury, in the county of Chester, and for setting out and making new Roads from Smithy Green aforesaid to join a Branch from the Leek Turnpike Road at Thatchmarsh Bottom, in the parish of Hartington, in the county of Derby, and from the first-mentioned Road to the Havannah Mills, was presented, and read; setting forth, That the Money borrowed on the credit of the Tolls cannot be paid off, nor can the Roads be amended and maintained, unless the term and powers of the said Acts be enlarged, and the Tolls increased; and praying, That leave may be given to bring in a Bill for the same.

Ordered, That leave be given to bring in a Bill accordingly: And that Mr. Davenport and Mr. Egerton do prepare, and bring it in.

Limerick and Charleville Road Petition.

A Petition of several Trustees for executing the Act for improving and repairing the Road leading from Newcastle, in the county of Limerick, to the city of Limerick, and from thence to Charleville, in the county of Cork, and for repealing the several laws heretofore made relating to the said Road, was presented and read; setting forth, That the Money borrowed on the credit of the Tolls cannot be paid off, nor the said Road effectually repaired and kept in repair, unless the term and powers of the said Act be enlarged and additional powers granted; and praying, That leave may be given to bring in a Bill for the same.

Ordered, That leave be given to bring in a Bill accordingly: And that Mr. Spring Rice and Mr. Fitzgibbon do prepare, and bring it in.

Return of Steam Vessels, ordered.

Ordered, That there be laid before this House, a Return from every sea-port town or harbour in the United Kingdom, of all and every vessel navigated by Steam, belonging to, or usually sailing from, such port or harbour; specifying the Name of each vessel so navigated by Steam, the Tonnage and number of Men employed in navigating the same, whether usually employed in foreign trade or as a coaster, how often she has cleared out or entered inwards in the course of the year, from 1st January 1828 to 1st January 1829.

Ordered, That there be laid before this House, a Copy of the Report of Mr. Telford, respecting the Road from Ketley Iron Works, in the county of Salop, to Chirke, in North Wales.

Mr. William Peel presented to the House, pursuant to the directions of an Act of Parliament,-A Book, intituled, "Acts of Sederunt of the Court of Session in Scotland," 1829-30.

General Statement of Shipping ordered.

Ordered, That there be laid before this House, a General Statement of the Shipping employed in the Trade of the United Kingdom, in the year 1829, exhibiting the number and tonnage of Vessels entered inwards and cleared outwards (including their repeated voyages), with the number of their Crews; separating British from Foreign Ships, and distinguishing the Trade with each country.

General Statement of Imports and Exports, ordered.

Ordered, That there be laid before this House, a General Statement of the Imports and Exports of the principal articles of Merchandize between the United Kingdom and the several Foreign Countries and British Possessions Abroad in the year 1828; specifying the quantities, and the declared value, of the Exports of British Merchandize, and the quantities of imported articles retained for Home consumption.

Trent and Mersey Canal Petition.

A Petition of the Company of Proprietors of the Navigation from the Trent to the Mersey, was presented, and read; reciting several Acts of the 6th, 10th, 15th, 16th, 23d, 37th, 42d, and 49th years of his late Majesty, and the 4th and 8th years of His present Majesty, for making a navigable Cut or Canal from the River Trent, at or near Wilden Ferry, in the County of Derby, to the River Mersey, at or near Runcorn Gap; and to extend several Branches of Canal from and out of the said Navigation, and to make Railways, to alter the course of the Railways from Froghall to Caldon, and part of the course of the Canal from Froghall to Uttoxeter; and to make an additional Tunnel through Harecastle Hill, in the county of Stafford, and an additional Reservoir in Knypersley Valley, in the said county; and setting forth, That the making and maintaining of a navigable Cut, Canal or Branch from and out of the said Navigation from the Trent to the Mersey, at or near a place called Wood End, in the parish of King's Bromley, in the county of Stafford, to join and communicate with the Coventry Canal at or near Street Hay Wharf, in the parish of Whittington, in the said county of Stafford, together with proper works and conveniences for the purposes of Navigation; and the charging of Rates, Tolls or Duties on vessels navigating the said intended Cut, Canal or Branch would be of great advantage to the public, and that the said Acts require to be amended; and it is therefore expedient that the same should be repealed, and the powers and provisions thereof consolidated into one Act; and praying, That leave may be given to bring in a Bill for the same.

Ordered, That the said Petition be referred to a Committee:-And it is referred to Mr. Littleton, &c.: And they are to meet To-morrow, in the Speaker's Chamber; and have Power to send for persons papers and records.

Ordered, That the Minutes of the Evidence, which upon the 19th day of June, in the last Session of Parliament, were reported from the Committee on Select Vestries, be printed.

Address respecting Coin.

Resolved, That an humble Address be presented to His Majesty, that He will be graciously pleased to give directions, that there be laid before this House, a Copy of the Minutes of Evidence concerning Coin, given before the Board of Trade at Whitehall, on or about Saturday the 26th of April 1828.

Ordered, That the said Address be presented to His Majesty, by such Members of this House as are of His Majesty's most honourable Privy Council.

Liverpool Improvement Petition, reported.

General Gascoyne reported from the Committee on the Petition of the Mayor, Bailiffs and Burgesses of the town of Liverpool, and of several Inhabitants of the said town, and the townships of Kirkdale, Everton and West Derby; That the Standing Orders relative to Bills for improving any City or Town, had been complied with; and that they had examined the matter of the Petition; and the Report was brought up, and read.

Ordered, That leave be given to bring in a Bill for the better Paving and Sewerage of the Town of Liverpool, in the County Palatine of Lancaster, and for settling the Boundaries between the said Town and the Township of Kirkdale, and parts of the Townships of Everton and West Derby: And that General Gascoyne and Mr. Huskisson do prepare, and bring it in.
