Prayers.

PETER Lawrence and Isaac Delamare did, this Day, take the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy, in order to their being naturalized.

Northampton Election.

The Question being put, To agree with the Committee of Elections, in the Day by them appointed for the Hearing of the Cause between Sir John Bernard and Sir Henry Yelverton, touching the Election for the Town of Northampton;

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

Deane Forest.

Ordered, That Sir Charles Harbord and Sir Philip Warwicke, be added to the Committee to which the Bill concerning the Forest of Deane was committed: And that Committee have, (notwithstanding the Adjournment of the House) . . . . to meet this Afternoon, in order to the Sending of Summons, and adjourning the Committee to a further Day.

St. James Parish.

A Petition of the Inhabitants of the Bailiwick of St. James, in the Parish of St. Martin . . the Fields, was read.

Ordered, That Leave be given for bringing in a Bill for dividing the Bailiwick of St. James, and other Parcels of the Parish of St. Martins in the Fields, from the said Parish; and constituting the same into a distinct Parish of itself; and erecting a Church for the Inhabitants: And that Mr. Waller have Leave to bring in the Bill.

Dividing Parishes.

Ordered, That Leave be given for the bringing in a General Bill for dividing Parishes, and erecting new Churches or Chapels, where the Parish Churches are not of Capacity to receive the Inhabitants: But that Care be taken that Encouragement be not thereby given for further new Buildings.

Sale of Lands.

A Bill to prevent Frauds in the Sale of Lands, was this Day read the First time.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill be read the Second time the First Day of the Meeting after the Recess.

Packington's Estate.

Mr. Crouch reports from the Committee to which the Bill for vacating certain Deeds, made by Sir John Packington, to Christopher Henn, and others, of certain Lands in or near Aylesbury in the County of Bucks, That the Committee had agreed, several Amendments to be made to the Bill: Which he read, with the Coherence, in his Place; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: And the Amendments were twice read; and, on the Question, agreed to.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments agreed to, be ingrossed.

Mersey, &c. Navigation.

Ordered, That the Committee to which the Bill for making navigable the Rivers of Mersey and Weaver, in the Counties Palatine of Lancaster and Chester, was committed, do meet on This-day-three-weeks, in the Exchequer Chamber: And that this Order of Summons be sent from the House, for the Parties concerned to appear, and attend the Committee on that Day.

State of Trade.

Mr. Clifford reports from the Committee appointed to consider, How the Trade of the Nation may be improved and advanced, That the Committee had agreed upon Two several Votes to be reported to the House: Which, being delivered in at the Clerk's Table, were twice read.

Resolved, That his Majesty be humbly moved, to appoint Commissioners of both Kingdoms of England and Scotland, to consider of the Impositions that are fit to be laid or continued upon the Goods and Merchandizes of both Kingdoms.

Resolved, That his Majesty be humbly moved, to appoint some of his honourable Privy Council, or others, to consider of Expedients to redress the Grievances by Impositions upon the Trade of this Kingdom with Ireland; and so to settle the same between the Two Kingdoms, as that the one may not obstruct the other.

Ordered, That Mr. Secretary Bennett do attend his Majesty with these Votes of the House.

Crown Revenue.

The House did then resolve into a Committee of the whole House, to take the Bill for the better Collecting and Levying of the additional Revenue established on his Majesty, his Heirs and Successors, for the better Support of his and their Crown and Dignity.

Sir Robert Atkins reports from the Committee, That the Committee had sat, and made some further Progress in the Bill; and desired, That the House would, the Second Day next after the Meeting of the House, again resolve into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed in the further Consideration of the Bill.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree with the Committee; and that they will, on the Second Day next after the Meeting of the House, resolve into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed in the further Consideration of the said Bill.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Sir Matthew Appleyard have the Leave of this House to go into Ireland.

Dartmouth Writ.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do issue out his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown, to make out a new Writ, for the Election of a Burgess for the Borough of Clifton Dartmouth Hardness, in the County of Devon, in the room of Thomas Southcote Esquire, deceased.

Hide Park Water.

Ordered, That the Members that serve for Middlesex, London, Westminster, Southwarke; and the Members of this House that are Inhabitants in the City of London; be added to the Committee to whom the Bill for the Continuance and Enjoyment of certain Waters brought from and about Hide Park, to the City of Westminster, and Places adjacent, was committed.

Profaneness, &c.

Resolved, That Mr. Solicitor General, Serjeant Maynard, Sir Henry Worseley, Sir Charles Harbord, Mr. Vaughan, Sir Robert Atkins, Mr. Mountague, and Mr. Pryn, do prepare and bring in a Bill or Bills to prevent Profaneness, Licentiousness, and Impiety; and to restrain excessive Expences: And it is specially recommended to Sir Charles Harbord to take care thereof.

Mersey, &c. Navigation.

Ordered, That Sir Edward Meseley be added to the Committee to whom the Bill for making navigable the Rivers of Mersey and Weaver, in the Counties Palatine of Lancaster and Chester, is committed.
