Prayers.

Privilege.

ORDERED, That * Minshall, of Eardswich in the County of Chester, be sent for in the Custody of the Serjeant at Arms attending this House; for his Breach of Privilege, in serving Sir Jeoffrey Shakerley, a Member of this House, with Process to attend the Court of Exchequer in Chester, since this House was sitting: And that the said Minshall, and all others concerned, be, and are hereby, enjoined to stay all further Proceedings against the said Sir Jeoffery Shakerley, in the Exchequer of Chester, during the Sessions of this Parliament.

Ditto.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of Privileges, to examine the Matter touching the Arrest and Imprisonment of Charles Temple, Servant to Sir John Birkinhead, a Member of this House, by * *; and report the same to the House; And that the said Temple shall, in the mean time, have his Liberty, that he may attend the Committee.

Ditto.

Upon Information, That Mr. Christopher Jay, a Member of this House, having, upon an Extent, recovered certain Lands in Norfolke; and his Tenants, Mr. Turner and Mr. Custos, being in Possession thereof; yet one * * hath lately sealed a Lease of Ejectment, to try the Title of the said Lands, in Breach of the Privilege of this House;

Ordered, That the said * *, her Attorney, Solicitor, and Agents, be enjoined to stay all further Proceedings in the said Action of Ejectment, during the Session of this Parliament.

Goldsmiths Wares.

Ordered, That the Committee to which the Bill to prevent the Stealing of Plate, Jewels, and Goldsmiths Wares; and for Reformation of Inconveniences in the Goldsmiths Trade; was committed, be revived; and do sit To-morrow, at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, at the Place appointed.

Committees.

Ordered, That all such Committees as were to sit Yesterday in the Afternoon be revived; and do sit at Two of the Clock this Afternoon, in the Places appointed.

Vermuyden's Estate.

A Bill for settling and confirming certain Lands and Grounds purchased by Sir Cornelius Vermuyden, and his Participants, lying in the Counties of Yorke, Lincolne, and Nottingham, upon the Drainers and Purchasers thereof, was this Day read the First time.

Resolved, That this Bill be read the Second time on To-morrow sevennight.

Briscoe's Portion.

A Bill for impowering Sir Courtney Poole, Sir John Drake, and others, to make Sale of the Manor of Lymington in the County of Somerset, for Payment of the Portion of Ellen Briscoe Widow, one of the Daughters of Sir John Drake Knight, deceased, was this Day read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That this Bill be committed to Mr. Cofferer, Colonel Reames, Sir Tho. Meres, Mr. Clifford, Mr. Ashburnham, Mr. Clarke, Mr. Westfaling, Colonel Strangwayes, Sir Sol. Swale, Sir Tho. Preventing Popery, &c.

Ordered, That it be referred to a Committee to collect and bring in the Reasons of the House for the Vote of Advice to his Majesty, upon the Debates had Yesterday; and also to prepare and bring in a Bill to prevent the further Growth of Popery; viz. Sir Hen. North, Mr. Solicitor General, Mr. Vaughan, Sir Edw. Walpoole, Sir Tho. Meres, Sir Fra. Goodrick, Colonel Windham, Lord Fanshaw, Mr. Hungerford, Mr. Ashburnham, Sir Rich. Everard, Sir Bain. That, in the Close of the Reasons to be presented to his Majesty, for the Vote of Advice, it be also added, That this House, in pursuance thereof, will assist his Majesty with their Lives and Fortunes: And that the Committee appointed to bring in the Reasons, do pen an Address, to that Purpose, to his Majesty.

Nemine contradicente, That the humble Thanks of this House be returned to his Majesty, for his gracious Recommendation to this House, to prepare Laws against Licentiousness and Impiety; and also to provide Sumptuary Laws, and Laws for the Advance of Trade; and for his Majesty's gracious Expressions to retrench the Charge and Expences of his own Family; And that this Vote be added to the other Votes of Yesterday, for tendering the Thanks of this House to his Majesty.
