Prayers.

Cardigan Writ.

ORDERED, That Mr. Speaker do issue out his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown, to make out a new Writ for Election of a Burgess for the Town of Cardigan, in the stead of Mr. James Phillips, whose Election was made void.

Loyalists Bonds.

Upon Information, That one Captain Scotton had, in his Custody, several Bonds entered into by the Gentlemen of Wiltshire, upon their Imprisonment in the late Times for their Loyalty; and that other Persons had, in their Custody, divers Bonds entered into by the Gentlemen of other Counties, upon their Imprisonment for their Loyalty;

Ordered, That Captain Scoton, and all other Persons who had in their Custody, any Bonds entered into by such Persons as were imprisoned for their Loyalty, do, upon Notice, forthwith bring in the said Bonds into this House; or do appear, and give an Account, what is become of such Bonds.

Common Lands.

A Bill for Improvement of Commonable Lands, was this Day read the First time.

Goldsmith's Wares.

A Bill for preventing the Stealing of Plate, Jewels, and Goldsmiths Wares; and also for the Reformation of sundry Inconveniences in the Goldsmiths Trade; was this Day read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill be committed to Sir Solomon Swale, Sir John Birkinhead, Sir Rich. Ford, Mr. Westfaling, Colonel Reames, Colonel Edm. Windham, Sir John Duncombe, Mr. Vaughan, Sir Wm. Watlingstreet Road.

A Bill for Repairing and Maintaining of the Highway called Watling-street, in the County of Bedford, was this Day read the First time.

Resolved, &c. That this Bill be read the Second time on Friday next.

Act of Uniformity, &c.

Resolved, &c. That the Committee who were appointed to peruse the Act of Uniformity do also review the Act for Highways, the Act against Quakers, the Act for the Militia, the Act for regulating the Press, the Act for Packing of Butter, and the Act concerning the Fishing Trade of the County of Cornwall; and to hear such Objections as shall be made against any of the said Bills; and report their Opinions to the House, whether they find necessary to have any Amendments or Explanations made to any of the said Bills, and wherein: And Sir John Goodrick, Sir Tho. Littleton, Sir Edm. Peirce, Sir John Duncombe, Colonel Kirkby, Colonel Legg, Sir Tho. Gower, Sir Courtney Poole, Sir John Pelham, Sir Phil. Musgrave, Major General Egerton, Sir Clifford Clifton, and all the Members of this House of the Long Robe are added to the said Committee, as to the Execution of this Order: And they are also to consider of the ancient Course and Method observed in the Passing of Bills; and report their Opinions therein to the House.

Ordered, That a Committee be appointed of these Persons following; viz. Sir John Birkinhead, Sir Tho. Littleton, Sir Tho. Gower, Sir Tho. Allen, Mr. Vaughan, Mr. Clifford, Mr. Mountague, Sir Fra. Goodrick, Sir Tho. Strickland, Mr. Hungerford, Mr. Pryn, Mr. Crouch, Sir Robert Atkyns, Sir Lanc. Lake, Sir Tho. Meres, Sir Rich. Temple, Mr. Crouch, Sir John Holland, Mr. Street, Serjeant Charlton, or any Three of them, to peruse the Journals of this House every Saturday in the Afternoon, and to see that the Votes, Orders, and Proceedings of the House, be fairly and rightly entered; and also, from time to time, to examine and compare such Bills as shall be hereafter ingrossed, with the Paper Copies by which they are ingrossed; and to see that they do cohere and agree.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Thomas Bennett and Sir William Child;

Ecclesiastical Records.

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have commanded us to deliver you this Message; That, whereas divers Deeds, Evidences, and Writings, concerning Advowsons, and Rectories impropriate, belonging to several Peers of this Kingdom, were taken from them, for their Loyalty in adhering to his Majesty, in the late Troubles, and are now in the Custody of the Clerk of the House of Commons; the Lords desire that all such Deeds, Evidences, and Writings, may forthwith be delivered into the Possession of the Clerk of the House of Peers; to the end they may be restored to the several and particular Lords to whom they properly belong, according to an Act of Parliament lately passed, intituled, An Act for restoring of all such Advowsons, Rectories impropriate, Glebe Lands, and Tythes to his Majesty's loyal Subjects, as were taken from them; and making void certain Charges imposed on them, upon their Composition for Delinquency by the late usurped Powers.

The Messengers being called in; Mr. Speaker does acquaint them, That the House had taken their Message into Consideration; and would make Inquiry for the Deeds and Writings which concern the Lords, and would then send them an Answer by Messengers of their own.

Ordered, That Sir Thomas Meres, Sir Phil. Warwick, Mr. Mallett, Sir John Birkinhead, Mr. Pryn, Mr. Crouch, Sir Edm. Peirce, Sir Robert Atkyns, or any Three of them, be appointed a Committee to make Inquiry in whose Hands the Deeds, Evidences, and Writings, which do relate to such Parsonages and Advowsons as are by Act of Parliament to be restored to the Lords, or the Members of this House, and other his Majesty's loyal Subjects, do now remain; and to make Report thereof to this House: And for this Purpose, they are to meet on Wednesday next, at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber: And the said Committee have Power to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

And then the House adjourned till Wednesday next, Eight of the Clock in the Morning.
