Prayers.

Le Pla's, &c. Nat.

THE Lord Gorge reports from the Committee to which the Bill for Naturalizing of Marke Le Ple, and others, was committed, That the Committee had carefully examined the Certificates concerning the several Persons; and found, that there was no Clause of Exception against any of them, why they should not be naturalized: And that the Committee found no Defect in the Bill, but only the Omission of the Word "the;" which, by Amendment, was to be inserted after the Word "and," and before the Word "Commons," in the Third Line of the Third Sheet of the Bill.

Which Amendment, being twice read, was, upon the Question, agreed to.

Resolved, That the said Bill, with the said Amendment agreed to, be ingrossed.

Lord's Day.

A Bill for better Observation of the Lord's Day, was this Day read the First time.

Ordered, That this Bill be read again, the Second time, To-morrow Morning.

Corporations.

An additional Bill to the Act for better regulating Corporations, was this Day read the First time.

Ordered, That this Bill be read the Second time the next Opportunity.

Bengworth Bridge.

Amendments, sent from the Lords, to the ingrossed Bill for Repair of Bengworth Bridge, were twice read; and, upon the Question, severally agreed to; and then read the Third time.

Resolved, That the said Amendments, agreed to, be inserted into, and made Part of the Bill.

Royal Mines.

Ordered, That all the Members that serve for the several Counties of Wales, and for the Counties of Cornwall, Devon, and Derby, be added to the Committee to which the Bill concerning Royal Mines is committed.

Privilege.

Upon Information, That Richard Shuttleworth Esquire had stopped up the Lane's Ends in his Lordship of Barton, on purpose to hinder Mr. Rigby, one of the Members of this House, from carrying the Tythe Corn of the said Township (whereof he the said Mr. Rigby is Inheritor) to his own House: And that the said Mr. Shuttleworth had, by Thomas Cowpe his Attorney, caused several vexatious Actions of Trespass to be commenced against Henry Bannester, George Kighley, James Topping, and John Topping, being menial Servants unto, and Persons employed by, the said Mr. Rigby, in the carrying of the said Corn; and had several times sued them to the Exigent, they having done nothing but by the Direction of the said Mr. Rigby, whose Interest is only concerned: Which is in Breach of the Privilege of this House;

Ordered, That the said Mr. Shuttleworth and Thomas Cowpe his Attorney, do, upon Summons, attend this House upon Monday the Twenty-sixth Day of this Instant May, to answer the Breach of Privilege objected against them.

Relief of Loyalists.

The House then proceeded to the Reading of the Amendments, sent from the Lords, to the Bill of Distribution of the Sixty thousand Pounds amongst the truly loyal and indigent Commission Officers, and for assessing Offices for their further Supply.

And the several Amendments made to the Bill, before the Commissioners Names, being twice read, were, upon the Question, severally agreed to.

The Amendment to the Commissioners Names in Bedfordshire, as to the Lord Bruce, being read the Second time;

Resolved, That these Words, "in the Kingdom of England," be inserted, after the Word "Wharleton."

The three next Amendments, as to the Commissioners Names for the Counties of Cambridge, Chester, and Derby, were read the Second time; and, upon the Question, severally agreed to.

The next Amendment, as to the County of Devon, being, before "Sir Hugh," to leave out "Right honourable," being read the Second time;

Resolved, That the House, as to this Amendment, doth adhere to the Bill.

The Amendment to the County of Gloucester, being read the Second time, was, upon the Question, agreed to.

The next Amendment, as to the Commissioners Names for the County of Hereford, being read the Second time, was, upon the Question, agreed.

The Amendment to the Commissioners Names for the County of Hertford, being read the Second time;

Resolved, That these Words "Lord Viscount Fanshaw of *," be inserted, instead . . "Lord Fanshaw Viscount Drumore."

The next Amendment to the Names of Commissioners for London and Westminster was read the Second time.

Resolved, That these Words, "in the Kingdom of England," be inserted after the Word "Wharleton:"

And that the Amendment, so altered, be agreed to.

The rest of the Amendments to the Commissioners Names of the several Counties, until the County of Yorke, were read the Second time; and, upon the Question, severally agreed to.

The Amendments, as to the Commissioners Names for the County of Yorke, being read the Second time;

Resolved, That these Words, "in the Kingdom of England," be inserted after the Word "Wharleton:" And that the Amendment, with this Alteration, be agreed to.

The Two next Amendments, after the Commissioners Names, were twice read; and, upon the Question, severally agreed to.

The Parchment, sent from the Lords, containing Two Provisoes, was twice read.

The First Proviso was read the Second time.

Militia.

Serjeant Charlton reports from the Committee appointed to consider of the Proviso, sent from the Lords, to the Bill for ordering the Forces in the several Counties of this Kingdom, touching the assessing of Peers, some Amendments and Additions to the said Proviso: Which were twice read:

Resolved, That the Proviso, sent from the Lords, with these Amendments and Additions, being agreed unto: The same was read the Third time, with the Coherence in the Proviso.

Resolved, That these Words, "when they are not absent," be added after the Word "Direction," in the several Places of the Bill, where it is proper to be inserted.

Resolved, upon the Question, That it be referred to the former Committee appointed to consider of, and bring in Amendments to the Lords Proviso, or any Three of them, to peruse the Bill, and the Amendments and Provisoes, sent from the Lords; and to compare them with the Amendments and Alterations made thereto by this House; and to see that the same do cohere and agree; and to report their Opinion thereupon; and also to insert the Words "when they are not absent," according to the former Vote, in such Places as it is proper; and to peruse the Clause, as to the Month's Pay; and, if they find any Doubt arising thereupon, to report it to the House; and to instruct themselves with Reasons against the Conference.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Justinian Lewen and Sir Toby Woolrich;

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have returned you Two Bills: One, for restoring of Advowsons to his Majesty's loyal Subjects; and the other, for preventing of Theft upon the Northern Borders; with some Amendments: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

And they do further command us to give you Notice, that they have agreed to the Bill of Uniformity, with the Amendments and Alterations sent from this House.

Interposition to prevent a Quarrel.

Mr. Speaker reports, That, in pursuance of the Order of the House, the Serjeant had seized the Lord Ossory: And that he had engaged to confine himself to Warwick House; and had observed his Engagement: But Mr. Phillip Howard did absent himself, and could not be met with.

Ordered, That Mr. Phillip Howard, a Member of this House, do, upon Summons left at his known Lodging, appear on Monday Morning, upon Pain of the Displeasure of the House.

Lyndsey Level.

Resolved, upon the Question, That the remaining Part of the Evidence of Sir Charles Hussey, as to Lyndsey Level; and the Report of the Committee to which the Bill was committed; be afterwards heard To-morrow Morning.

Relief of Loyalists.

Ordered, That the Lord Bruce do carry up the Bill to the Lords, for distributing the Sixty thousand Pounds amongst the loyal Officers; with the Amendment of this House to the Lords Amendments; and desire their Concurrence.
