Prayers.

Brownes Estate.

AN ingrossed Bill, sent from the Lords, enabling Sir Anthony Browne to sell Lands for Payment of his Debts, was this Day read the First time.

Resolved, That the same be read again, the Second time on Wednesday next.

Confirming Acts.

Mr. Crouch reports from the Committee to whom the Bill for confirming Three Acts therein mentioned, was committed, That the Committee had considered thereof; and saw no Cause to make any Alteration therein.

Resolved, That the same be ingrossed.

Stodgscombe, &c. Manors.

Mr. Churchill reports from the Committee for discharging the Manor of Stodgscombe, and other Manors of Devon, from a Trust of One hundred and Fifty Years, unto the Earls of Exeter, Bridgwater, and Bullingbrooke, was committed, That the Committee had considered thereof; and saw no Cause to make any Alteration therein.

Resolved, That the same be read the Third time Tomorrow Morning.

Hutchinson's Estate.

Sir Thomas Strickland reports from the Committee to whom the Bill for enabling Henry Chambers Executor of John Chambers; William Wharton, who married the Executrix of William Barrett; John Clay, Executor of Hercules Clay; to raise and levy the Sum of Two thousand Six hundred and Ninety Pounds out of the Manors, Lands, Tenements, Hereditaments, and Possessions, of Colonel John Hutchinson, was committed; several Amendments to the said Bill: Which he read, with the Coherence, in his Place; and after, delivered in at the Clerk's Table.

And the First Amendment being twice read;

Resolved, That this House doth agree to the said Amendment.

And the Second Amendment being also read;

Resolved, That this House doth agree to the said Amendment.

Resolved, That the said Bill, with the said last Amendment be ingrossed.

Sheriffs Accounts.

Mr. Steward makes Report from the Committee to whom the Bill for preventing unnecessary Charge of Sheriffs, and for Ease in perfecting their Accompts, was committed, several Amendments to the said Bill: Which he read, with the Coherence, in his Place; and after, delivered in at the Clerk's Table.

And the first Eighteen Amendments being twice read;

Resolved, That this House doth agree to the said Amendments.

And the Nineteenth Amendment being twice read;

The Question was put, That the Troopers who were to attend the Sheriffs at the Assizes, should have Pay at the Rate of Two Shillings and Six-pence per Diem, for all the Time of his or their Attendance; at the Cost of the Party or Parties charged with Horse and Arms.

The House was divided:

The Yeas went forth.

And so it passed in the Negative: And

Ordered, That the said Bill be re-committed to the former Committee: And they are to meet this Afternoon, in the Place formerly appointed; and to sit de die in diem.

Conference with Lords.

Mr. Seymour reports in Answer to the Message sent by him to the Lords, for a Conference upon the Subject Matter of the last Conference, upon the Bill for Execution of certain Persons attainted of High Treason, That the Lords consent to a present Conference in the Painted Chamber.

And a Conference being accordingly had;

Serjeant Rainsford reported, That those intrusted to manage the Conference had delivered to the Lords the Message given them in Charge.

Conference desired.

Ordered, That a Conference be desired with the Lords, touching the Bill for preventing the Mischiefs and Dangers that may arise, by certain Persons called Quakers, and others, refusing to take lawful Oaths: And Sir Robert Howard is desired to go to the Lords, to desire the said Conference.

Excise Revenue.

Ordered, That all the Members of this House do make their Returns, from the several Counties, to the Committee formerly appointed to inspect his Majesty's Revenue, and to receive Proposals touching the Advance of the Excise, at the Star Chamber, at Two of the Clock this Afternoon.

Phillips' Case.

Ordered, That Mr. Greenevile, Sir Baynham Throgmorton, Mr. How, and Mr. Edward Seymour, be added to the Committee to which the Matter concerning Mr. Phillips is referred.

Common Fields.

Ordered, That the Committee to whom the Bill for making Orders and By Laws, for well Ordering and Governing of Common Fields, was committed, be revived; and do meet in the Inner Court of Wards Tomorrow, at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon: And that Sir Charles Hussey, Mr. Puckering, Mr. George Clerke, Sir Henry Puckering, Mr. William Sandys, be added to the said Committee.

Wells Key.

Ordered, That the Committee to whom the Bill for the Repairing and better Preserving the Key of the Port of Wells, in the County of Norforke, was committed, be revived; and do sit in the Speaker's Chamber Tomorrow, at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon.

Bengeworth Bridge.

Ordered, That the Committee to whom the Bill for Repair of Bengeworth Bridge was committed, be revived; and do meet in the Speaker's Chamber To-morrow, at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon.

Wire Licences.

Upon Report this Day made by Mr. Edward Seymour, from the Committee to whom the Petition of those who have Licences, or Letters Patents, under the Great Seal of England, for the Keeping of Taverns, and Selling of Wines by Retale, was referred;

Ordered, That the said Petition be humbly recommended to the King's Majesty: And Mr. Edward Seymour, Sir Courtney Poole, and Dr. Burwell, are to attend his Majesty with this Order.
